Anyone know about the litigation in California involving iBill & celebrity sites?
Apparently there's something going on, that's why they're holding all celeb sites funds and refusing to hand them over.
I don't run a celeb site by the way, just heard about this. |

Maybe this? "PERFECT 10 has sued the largest AVS and will be suing the second largest AVS shortly. "
http://www.perfect10.com/news.html What does Perfect10 have to do with celebs anyway? |

Well, I think it goes like this...
Norm doesn't make enough money because people with celebrity sites are unfair competition. He has to spend $25,000 for every image, $7,500 for a hammer, and I think $65,000 for a toilet seat. He shops at the pentagon. So since it's unfair, Norm wants the justice system to shut his competition down and award him lots of money to compensate for things. If you want lots of money, you target companies with lots of money that enable this unfairness to be profitable. The billing companies make a good target.

What Brujah said, although it's complicated by the fact that lots of celebrity sites used to do shady shit like posting fakes and using P-10 pictures in them. It's a money-grabbing scam, plain and simple, which is why he's going after processors instead of the sites themselves.
Basically, imagine if your models sued you even though they don't own the copyrights to your content, or if your competition sued you because their photographer charges 50X more than yours. I'm not surprised though, this guy employs a very high-profile law firm in SoCal that I'm sure costs a pretty penny just to send cease-and-decist emails to people. It's no wonder he claims P-10 spends $10,000 per photo, it's probably all legal fees. |

Can't see anything new on that Perfect 10 site. Obtaining an injunction on an AVS is one thing, but a 3rd party billing company is somewhat different. The member is not joining the billing company like they do with an AVS.
Perhaps iBill is using this whole issue as a means of keeping some money to help them out of their current crisis?? |

"Ibill's dying,..."
I think it's true, but it will not be so fast "You know something we don't?" iBill has been acquired by InterCept, Inc. (Nasdaq: ICPT) Now read it about Intercept: http://www.thestreet.com/_yahoo/mark.../10062023.html That are not good news, dont you think? ![]() |
