Any of you motorcyclists from cold states?

If so, what kind of foul winter gear do you own? After this weekend I have decided I need to upgrade so looking for recommendations.

Gerbing heated jacket liner and glove liners. They make heated pants and socks as well. Your bike is already wired for it.

Just hook it all together and velcro the thermostat someplace easy to reach.

Not sure I understand what you mean by the bike already being wired for it. You just plug it in to the cigarette lighter, right?

And how come you did not use this stuff?

My bike had an accessory plug, I assumed yours did to. If not, you can buy an adapter for the cigarette lighter if your bike has one. Several of my friends have this gear and they seem very comfortable with it on their Goldwings. Its one of the things I always meant to get but then the weather would get warm and I'd put it off again.

when I used to ride a lot more frequently, it was just long johns, undershirt, a sweatter under the jacket and winter type gloves and of course leather chaps. Many times I came close to gettting the electric stuff , just never got around to it. I suppose they have made improvements to them over the years

Pretty much my current attire, sans the long johns. The chaps help for a while, until it just gets to the point that the leather gets cold, then it is like laying ice packs on your legs.

That?s what I did until I decided to just not ride in the winter. In fact since my first child I do not ride nearly often enough in the summer.

That's why the long johns help Used to make a point on riding Xmas and New Years day provided there was no snow !

Friday night I was riding up north and ended up with temps in the low to mid-30's. I was in the middle of nowhere so had to wait a couple hours before I hit the outskirts of civilization, that had a Target store.

I was able to find a top that fit, but no bottoms (lost too much weight, I guess).

I was so happy to get back on this side of the Grapevine yesterday.

No doubt. It was 80+ when I left my house. Weather.com said Sacramento would be 67. It may have hit 47 while I was inside the convention center. I never saw it.

If I had known, I probably would have taken the car.

When we were driving to Vegas on Thurs [before AEE] we were hitting weather in the high 70's. I started to wish I had brought the bike instead, but goodgirl was quite content with the car.
