50 Bears beating Seahawks......

bushwacker 01-16-2011 05:16 PM

2-0 yesterday and 0-2 today. That's gambling. :helpme

baddog 01-16-2011 05:18 PM

So, I guess Green Bay wins the Superbowl this year.

They "bearly" beat Seattle. I don't see them doing that to GB. Should be a high scoring game though.

Barely? Did you watch the game or did you just look at the score?

I am not saying that the Green Bay game will not be different, but if anyone expects Green Bay to have the game they had yesterday when they are in Chicago next week, they are sorely mistaken.

What is your gut telling you for next week, let me know early so I can bet the house against it.

I was riding all day, so yeah, I based that on the score. But even if they had a great offense, their defense must have been lacking. Either way, I take GB over the Bears.

adendreams 01-16-2011 05:56 PM

Packers are looking preeeety good!

Thank you, took the words out of my mouth.

Caligari 01-16-2011 06:27 PM

Packers in SB, Bears don't have a chance.

And...Packers win SB.

PornMD 01-16-2011 06:30 PM

Holy shit. Question: Has there ever been a Super Bowl with two 6th seeds? It's looking like it could happen (and yes I realize Seahawks were the true NFC 6th seed in most people's minds).

Even a look at the quarter scoring tells the tale. I wasn't at home to watch the game but had heard 28-0 from someone else. They ran into a brick wall.

Yeah the score is a lot different that what the game showed

Just happy the Pats lost. Haven't won the big one since they got caught cheating. Brady is 0-3 in his last 3 playoff starts. Frauds.

How anyone outside of NY/NJ can think that the Jets can beat the Patriots is beyond me. Especially anyone who knows anything about football.

I'm guessing it's more wishful thinking than logic.

Had to quote this one for comedic value.

Side note, I had my money on the Pats too.

I wouldn't say barely. Also, when the Bears play the Packers it will be the exact opposite of a high scoring game. The Bears vs Packers is always a defensive dog fight.

Cutler makes mistakes, but the Bears are still a great team. We've come a long way from a team that throws 6 picks and gets sacked 9 times. :)

They started this season playing poorly, they had no offensive line to offer Cutler ANY type of protection and more importantly, any kind of running game. So, yes they lost to teams like the Seahawks, (by 3) playing absolutely horrendous, (6 sacks, 0-12 on 3rd down conversions) football.

Today, at one point they were completely shutting them out 28-0. Unfortunately, the Bears have a bad habit of playing sloppy when they're ahead by a large margin. They gave the ball to our RB Forte to throw the ball which of course got intercepted.

Then the defense just basically celebrated early with sloppy play leaving receivers wide open for Hasselbeck to hit in the 4th quarter.

The Bears beat a lot of good teams this season and are perfectly capable of making it to the super bowl.

They beat the Eagles off a big winning streak, then beat the Jets who were coming off a Steelers win, then after losing to us went on to beat the Colts and now Patriots. It was no easy win either, it was an offensive battle till the last minute against a team that made a complete turnaround.

The Bears have beaten the Packers during this season, and in the last game of the season we already had a 2nd seed spot regardless of the outcome. Even with nothing to play for and the Packers having everything to play for we shutdown Rodgers in company to just 10 points on the road.

Next week, at home, the Bears have a real shot at taking out the Packers. Either way, it's going to be an epic game.

I got the Jets and Steelers right.

I don't like Green Bay on the road in Chicago. But i didn't like them in Atlanta, so take it for what its worth.

Jets vs. Chicago in the Superbowl. Jets win.

Cory W 01-17-2011 11:02 AM

The Pats upset was easy to see coming. You can't win with a defense that is just under last in total. I don't really see the big deal here.

At least you have 1/2 of it right Cory. Superbowl...Bears win:thumbsup

Supz 01-17-2011 11:20 AM

Yes. I made a mistake about Seahawks being an indoor team. No, I did not make a mistake about Chicago being the LOCK. Just wanted to let you know. Even if you had the Bears -10 you would have came out a winner. I am going on vacation with this LOCK. What are you doing? :)

Here are my predictions...

Bears
Pats
Steelers
Atlanta

Should be a great weekend of football.

This is why I always pick just 1 game. If you pick all 4. Most of the time you will either go 50/50 or lose more then you win. Either pushing minus the vig or being a loser. I try to pick out one game that I like. Win or Lose.

hey guys just wanted to thanked you much ... many times i was thinking about betting what gfy said ... this games i tried some small my first gfy bets on packers, jets and seahawks and overall i more than doubled the money i put in. thanks, it was just some small money but hey, it works! thanks again and keep them coming :thumbsup

munki 01-18-2011 11:13 AM

No matter what goes down... I predict the cheerleaders will be hot... and there will be far to little media attention paid to this all important aspect of the game.

this is true, there used to be more coverage of the cheerleaders during a game, now hardly any.

at least there's the lingerie league;)

Tom_PM 01-18-2011 11:36 AM

Well, I got 3 out of 4 this past weekend. Next week I've picked the Steelers and the Packers. Yeah, I dont stress it. I just pick as soon as picks are open and go with my gut.

I'm going with the Packers in game 1 and the Steelers in game 2.

SB: Packers win.

But of course the two conference championship games can go either way. It's anybody's game, just comes down to whoever wants it the most. It could just as easily be a Bears - Jets finale, or Packers - Jets, or Bears - Steelers.

But you gotta go with someone.

jesse_adultdatingdollars 01-18-2011 03:16 PM

Packers and Steelers is my pick

WebairGerard 01-18-2011 04:30 PM

going with Jets vs Packers for Lombardi Trophy!

bloggerz 01-18-2011 06:28 PM

Going for steelers and Green Bay this sunday

35 points. Not exactly high scoring or the opposite.

Man. I knew I should have taken that to the bank.

Steelers are taking the Jets to school right now. Steelers beating the Packers in the SuperBowl but it will be a good game.

Granted, GB hang on, but they hung on vs the Bears. Tougher than holding on against the Jets.

TeenCat 01-24-2011 09:19 AM

gracias mucho, tried again with higher bet and have won both games, respect us football experts :thumbsup

CDSmith 01-24-2011 10:16 AM

Green Bay going to win their 4th SB, or will the Steelers nab their 7th?

Line in the pools is GB -2.5

I'm going with the Packers for the win. (as I posted last week)

Tom_PM 01-24-2011 10:22 AM

Yeah, Packers are looking good. I wasn't too impressed with the Steelers sitting on 24 points for a half hour or whatever it was. The Jets had all of the momentum for half the game. Not a good way for the Steelers to enter the super bowl: on a weak game where they simply lasted barely long enough to not lose.

:2 cents: Jets looked great in 2nd half, Steelers barely held on.

The Jets looked good for one reason, the Steelers' safe defense. They never looked great, the Steelers just played awful after they got their lead.

NetHorse 01-24-2011 06:38 PM

I hope the Steelers kill Green Bay.

And yes, before anyone says it, the whole city of Chicago is disappointed in Jay Cutler.:mad:

Seems to be a common trend. The Jets beat the Steelers once this season, then they beat the Colts, then the Pats...

I think the Jets deserve some credit for getting as far as they did. The Jets IMO, are a lot like the Bears. Two QBs who never played a playoff game with minimal protection making them terribly inconsistent, but when their defense heats up they can stop virtually any team.

The Jets defense was more impressive in the second half, but I was sure the Steelers defense was going to give it away. If the game had another two minutes, they would have.
