iPhone not sending out pictures properly?

In the last 2-3-4 weeks...my iPhone (4) seems to have trouble sending out pics?

A lot of people tell me that they get a text message with the pic, but the message says something like the picture is too large to download.

Has anyone else witnessed this phenomenon??

The only issue I have had is from people that have phones that can only show the thumbnail.

the recipients have Iphones or other types of phones like BB's ?

Usually other phones...but I used to be able to send to these people with no problems before...

Sounds like their phone is unable to open the hires image.
