    Selling my Viper -- PRICE suggestions?

    I decided to make this a new thread instead of risking the TL;DR syndrome in the other thread.

    I'm selling my 2004 Dodge Viper with 33,000 miles on it. It's a convertible 6-speed in red. It's been babied, garaged, never seen poor weather, is detailed monthly by children in a sweatshop, and is fed a diet of only premium gas made from the finest dinosaurs. Pussy magnet comes standard, and yes: it's a sub-four-second 0-60 in a rear wheel drive car with no traction control. This means you WILL probably shit your pants and/or wreck it if you stomp the gas the first time you drive it.

    What is the LOWEST price I should take for it? i.e., at what point would I be getting ripped off?

      id look at cars on autotrader.com and cars.com to see what they are selling for and go from there. KBB and those sites are not accurate one bit for super sport cars

              I would say mid 30's is the lowest and the most is a little over $40K from what I've seen on Ebay, I will hit you up on ICQ I need a new toy this summer my 350z is getting old.

                                  Why don't you just beg somebody to buy it. Or stop talking about it in threads.

                                  Look at what they are selling for same mileage, same age, same colour in dealerships and private sales and price yours accordingly.

                                      Take a look at 10 of them on CL and EbayMotors with similar mileage, and average the prices together... and there's your price.

                                          My concern was that some of those prices were probably distressed owner prices or dreamers pricd too high .... My hope in bringing it to GFY was that someone had bought or sold one recently. Lots of ballers.

                                                              Ok then. 40k is what I'll be looking at. I'll toss it on Craigslist at 44k and let them talk me down. I'll post a link when it's up. I've decided to sell one of my boats, too, so maybe I'll make it a combo purchase, LOL.

                                                                                              I knew this dude who made big millions, then hired the famed Hawaii aquatic scene painter Christian Lassen (who I also know) to paint his Viper... I think he payed him 300k for the paint job or some crazy shit like that.

                                                                                              He then went broke during the dot bomb stock freefall - then tried to sell the Viper for years... Not sure if he ever sold it - I think he was asking 145k - for a while he was selling "memberships" for people to pay yearly and get to have the car for a few days per year... I know..HUH?

                                                                                              no relevance - just a crazy Viper story.

See if there is a CARMAX used car facility near you. They do free trade in appraisals and are usually priced right on for wholesale value. Then check around and see what they are being sold for. Check Ebay to see if there are any like it. Find ones that are actually being sold. Not ones with Buy It Now's that dont get sold. Also like someone else mentioned. Check Autotrader.com to see what other ones are selling for.

                                                                                                                                                  Rising gas prices + winter. Also, the 2008+ Vipers with 600hp are in high demand dragging the value of the older Vipers down.

It's not the end of the world if it doesn't sell -- I'll just buy the 760 and sit on the Viper until spring. It'd just be nice to free up one or two garage spots for incoming toys.

                                                                                                                                                                          If you need to brag about a DODGE, you need to upgrade your standards a bit. A Viper should be your third car at the least, or you really can't afford it.
