I just test shot this very nice girl, she was cute not oh my god but cute. She wants to do hardcore and I took test shots for some of the sources I have. Well she hasnt done many but one of them was with one of the bigger websites. He pays her $1000 to do a scene now this girl thinks thats her rate. I tired to explain to her but I dont think it will sink. Why do people insist on overpaying, it screws it up for the rest of us lol.

I recenty had a model reply to my first email by quoting me an hourly rate that is more then three times what I pay the models I work with. Kindof hard to work from there... not to mention unrealistic.

Just think about it, a site with 20 girls, let's say they pay $20.000 total for the content.. That right there is less than 1.000 members to make that money back...

Although it works for my advantage -cheap girls- the fact that w/o them we would not make any money they should be paid more..

Most girls 'think' they are worth alot because many photographers just pay whatever. True, there are girls worth more but most aren't.

While getting first timers is cheap, there are some drawbacks potentially.

On the hardcore stuff, I understand but for regular pics, most girls are over-priced. I just name my price and if they do not like it, oh well.

Too many girls out there in the world to be bending over backwards.

You would not open a restuarant and let your customers pay whatever they thought the meal was worth to them would you?

i think the girls deserve to be paid well, this girl was going to be paid too well though.

believe it or not you will find alot of women willing to do shoots for like 200 bucks for 3 sets for like an hr or 2 from strip clubs first they are use to getting naked second its fast easy money not the high n mighty strip clubs either but thats where you will find hot chicks low prices...thats where we find alot of our women and it works......

there are NOT millions of girls out there looking to do this kind of work. BIG MYTH. Ask any of the guys who shoot content how much of their time is spent recruiting models. Ox and RK have not been around that long, why are they shooting in California now? Because they've shot every girl who will do this in Florida.

The talent pool in Los Angeles, the porn movie making capital of the world, is alot smaller than people think. That's why you see the same faces popping up all over.

In the smaller cities where there is only one or two people shooting nudes you can do nicely but if you had to shoot for more than a few sites you'd soon be out of fresh talent.

Think I said a million or something like that. Of course, I am just throwing numbers around. I used to shoot porn movies online many years ago and LA is where I basically lived out of.

Personally, I pay a slight finders fee, nothing over $100.

$720 for 4 hours is stupid for just pics unless she is fucking awesome. Me personally, I can make back the money no matter what I pay the girl. But for someone who is just a photographer, that much for pics may be a stretch. Course, keeping the clientel happy can be priceless.

I pay as low as $50 an hour (broken down) for pics. Yes they come. Depends on area as well. In LA, it is tougher but those that want $100 and hour can be had for less especially in dry times when they need work.

Movies were different. $500+ per scene per girl was normal and up to thousands depending on girl and action.

If you let the girls set their own price, you will lose lots of money. Now, there are girls that out there that I would gladly let tell me their rates. The Money Girls.

i can just tell you this much , here in the philippines ,, you can work this place belive it or not HARD ROCK CAFE and get this you pay for 11 to 12 hours for the day is on max 6.00$ a day
and what i pay to shoot my models they dont make that in a few days and only have to work a couple of hours for me

Look, if a model asks for more than you think she's worth you can't get all pissed and take it personally. It's a lot worse on the receiving end as a model when you know what you are worth and a photographer is clearly trying to low ball you. I know tons of models that have been screwed out of modeling fees- I've never heard of a photographer that paid a fee but didn't get any pictures. A model is an independent contractor just like designers or anyone else in the industry. Of course she's going to quote on the high side- just like you're going to quote on the low side. Just work it out so it makes sense or shoot someone else, don't get all bent out of shape if she's out of your price range.

For the record we almost only shoot "fresh" talent who haven't worked for other companies. Pros are more expensive and the content is usually less valuable due to their overexposure.

I keep telling him to run ads or find starving (but cute) college chicks who need some extra $$$.

He will learn one day!

The only reputation it builds is this fool will pay alot of money. I dont pay alot but I shoot galleries for the girls own use. I filter emails for them from those horrid model websites(talk about scum) I test them for mags and everyone I tested I got jobs with magazines. My wife can get shoes and lingerie at cost, they have access to that. We have a excellent rep but I still would never pay a girl the amount some sites pay. A major mag I test for pays $500 for a eight hour day pics and video clips. I think thats very fair especially for a girl who couldnt make $7 a hour in the real world lol.

Im not so worried about legalities in Argentina, as much as the legalities here.. From what I have heard, the feds only accept passports as form of legal identification from other countries but the US.. so that is my problem..

How many ppl actually have a passport.. Now if the feds would accept any ' tarjeta de identificacion ' or ' documento nacional de identificacion ' I would be all over south america shooting.

Mutt Too lazy to set a custom title Industry Role: Join Date: Sep 2002 Posts: 34,431	hey Dax i got something for you to read, from LukeFord.com <P><img border="2" src="http://www.lukeford.com/scarletissues.jpg" width="299" height="261"></P> <P>--- There was this girl (picture above) who I will name Scarlett Issues.  She has issues.  She's deep in issues.  She came from Florida with this agent named Paul Miller who practically attached himself like a leech to her.  A very nice girl, she seemed like she had the IQ of room temperature.  A smashing salesman for a major company has an experience that'll make him a Legend.  Everytime I saw her, the agent was right behind her.  I could tell right away the guy brought her to Vegas to fuck her.  But the salesman got first dibs and took her out to a party with the agent in tow.  We went to a satellite cable company party where the agent kept clinging to her while she was talking to the salesman.  Next thing you know, he's demanding she come back to the room with him or she will lose her room, her flight, and her money.  The salesman who was looking quite orange and perky told the agent to fuck off and took Scarlett Issues back to his suite and fucked the shit out of her.  The next day, poor Scarlett had no place to go.  When she came to my booth, I avoided her like the plague.  She was slurring her speech, she had no money, and she had even more issues than ever before.  Apparently, she borrowed a cell phone to call her mother from a porn director.  Next thing you know, the mother was calling the porn director telling him she'll call the cops cause she knew he'd kidnapped her and holed her up in Vegas.  Nevermind, he wasn't anywhere near this poor monstrosity.  100's of calls rained on the porn director's cell phone.  100's of calls rained on the saleman's cell phone.  I suggest poor penniless Scarlett hang out at the Circle Bar for a while.  She'll get propositioned, earn enough money for a flight home, and learn to suck dick in the meantime.</P> __________________ I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. This idea of paying the girls very well because its porn, if a girl decides to take a load in her face for $200 thats her choice nobody is twisting her arm. She just has to show up where we have a ton of expenses to bear .So starting at a low price makes good business sense. Also I dont want to shoot some hot very experienced model, first off she is going to cost a fortune and secondly everyone's already got her pic. To me from a selling point she is weak for business.

Personally, I pay a slight finders fee, nothing over $100. $720 for 4 hours is stupid for just pics unless she is fucking awesome. Me personally, I can make back the money no matter what I pay the girl. But for someone who is just a photographer, that much for pics may be a stretch. Course, keeping the clientel happy can be priceless. I pay as low as $50 an hour (broken down) for pics. Yes they come. Depends on area as well. In LA, it is tougher but those that want $100 and hour can be had for less especially in dry times when they need work. Movies were different. $500+ per scene per girl was normal and up to thousands depending on girl and action. If you let the girls set their own price, you will lose lots of money. Now, there are girls that out there that I would gladly let tell me their rates. The Money Girls. Fuck. What am I talking about. It's a lot worse on the receiving end as a model when you know what you are worth and a photographer is clearly trying to low ball you. I know tons of models that have been screwed out of modeling fees- I've never heard of a photographer that paid a fee but didn't get any pictures. A model is an independent contractor just like designers or anyone else in the industry. Of course she's going to quote on the high side- just like you're going to quote on the low side. Just work it out so it makes sense or shoot someone else, don't get all bent out of shape if she's out of your price range. For the record we almost only shoot "fresh" talent who haven't worked for other companies.
