So everyone knows ObamaCare repeal isn't happening, right?

Why are Republicans pretending they are going to get Obamacare repealed?

Many supporters seem to be getting all excited for nothing. Is it wishful thinking or ignorance of how politics works that is clouding their ability to think rationally?

It seems like the GOP is over-hyping and will under-deliver. Why in the hell would they do that considering the shift in the 2010 election after voters discovered Obama is doing the same? Do they not see the writing on the wall or is there a strategy to the madness?

no strategy involved. People are sheep and will believe pretty much anything their party(politicians) tells them, no matter how many times they get burned by them. Just flip on over to the popular feelings/views of the people and feed them the BS they want to hear.

It's the republicans claiming to stick to their campaign promises, even though they know going into it the Senate will defeat the bill after it gets out of the House.

But, the repubs will use it to their advantage, saying, "We tried, but it was those damn
democrats who stopped it. We did the best we could.."

Better for them to try, then not to

That's like saying I won't vote cause Obama would win anyway.

              children, children, children.
let me explain this in as dumbed down way as I can imagine.
This ridiculous healthcare bill that a majority of americans oppose and which was shoved down our throats by the democrats is bad for the country.
Forcing those that went against our will to stand up and vote for it a second time will just identify who to vote out next election.
forcing the asshat in the white house to veto the bill to repeal it also works as a reminder as to who we should vote out.

                Spoken from a republican perspective.

                So this is all bad?:

In the 10 months since health reform became law, several pieces have been put into place.

They include allowing parents to keep adult children on their policies until age 26, eliminating lifetime insurance caps and creating high-risk pools in which people with medical conditions can buy affordable insurance.

The law also gives tax credits to small businesses that provide health coverage to employees, requires insurers to cover the cost of preventive care, such as physicals and screenings, and allows states to review insurance-premium increases.

Health-care law's repeal would hurt millions, advocates say

Regardless of whether you're a repub or dem, this "effort" from the republicans at this point is a complete waste of time. Repeal is not going to happen.

Regarding the reply to my previous post by KillerK, I understand your point in saying it's better to try than not at all, but some things are just impossible at a certain time and certain situation. I'm not saying a repeal will never happen, but at this point, with the scenario in Washington as it is, a repeal will not happen right now, and efforts to do so as the first priority of the new congress is a waste of time and tax payer money.

What gets me, is people against this don't seem to realize how many Americans are already getting free health care. I know so many people, adults, who have medicaid already and aren't waiting on obamacare. They'll just end up changing the income requirements to include more people like they did with the child health care. Those crying against it have no clue.

Fact is the way the health care is now isn't making the country better, and the US needs healthy consumers more than broke middle class people who can't afford their hospital bills.

The entire health care debacle was such a fuckup in the US. It's almost totally useless without a public option. The entire point was to bring down health care costs, right? So what was the point, when all is said & done, the insurance companies still run the show? How useless.

And here's some examples of the brilliant people who hate "ObamaCare":

The forces that are bringing in ObamaCare are from the very top, incredibly powerful people, the men in the shadows. That bill cannot be stopped. ObamaCare is about getting American's microchipped, it even has the microchipping information on the ObamaCare website.

They pass it in the house, thats a given, they may pass it in the senate, because in 2012 a lot of senators are up for re election. Then it goes to the president. Many people want it repealed. That will go against the president in 2012 when he veto's it. Then if we get a GOP president in office in 2012, the bill will be reintroduced and good bye Obamacare.
Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
                        think about that

It's a terrible bill and should be repealed.

With that said, I'm all in favor of something similar to what France, Japan, Germany, Sweden, or Canada has.
