The military aren't supposed to express opinions on a whole range of issues. This doesn't surprise me in the fact that a) it was made in the first place and b) that he was relieved because of it.

It also doesn't surprise me that it wasn't acted upon till after it became public. See: Abu Ghraib.

Yeah, I saw this on the news. Don't care. This is the same kind of humor we see on TV. This guy tried to make a funny video to get a message across. It's okay if it's network TV or cable TV, but not if it's made by the Navy. Whatever.

People need to get a sense of humor. If you don't think half the people on an air craft carrier aren't stroking it off every other day, your wrong.

I was in during the Tailhook scandal. 2 days of fucking training on sexual harassment. As enlisted, we were wondering why we had to go since it was only Officers who were the actual idiots who got us into it.

you were the one saying that with a few thousand people on a carrier something is bound to happen - meaning that if gay people get harrassed, molested, beaten etc. it's normal.

won't you agree that the captain is responsible for the atmosphere among the people and that he should lead by example instead of pouring oil into the fire?

In 1980, I went across the equator and went thru ShellBack, this is a tradition that dates back centuries. Many such crossings of the time had a beauty contest and dressed up guys in each department. I was too ugly to dress up. Were we harassing cross dresser's?

They are still doing ShellBack, but it has been scaled back a lot due to whiny little bitches that consider it harassment, fuck them, you don't have to go thru it!
