UCLA's "Condoms In The Adult Film Industry" panel, November 18, 2010. The clip opens with UCLA's Paula Tavrow citing approvingly the allegations of her fellow panelist, "victim of porn" Shelley Lubben (aka low-end porn performer "Roxy"). To Lubben's left (camera right) is panelist (and veteran porn performer) Mr. Marcus.
Mrs. Lubben claims that even though she was sexually active since age 16, and was a drug-addicted prostitute for six years PRIOR to getting into porn, and then also during her year and a half in porn -- and despite the fact that she was impregnated THREE TIMES by johns, and admits that clients purposely broke their condoms, and that one "bled in her face" from "his penis" -- she maintains that she never had unprotected sex as a prostitute, and is therefore POSITIVE that she got both herpes and HPV from her short time in porn.
Lubben now claims that God miraculously cured her of her herpes. "God told me He healed me."
Lubben admits she has been hearing voices since age 7, when Jesus told her that one day she'd be famous. She also claims that the Lord visited her in person on porn sets: "God hung out with me when I did those movies. He drove me nuts. I was like, 'Leave me alone.'" On the 700 Club TV show she said, of her time on porn sets, "[God] used to come in the room and go, 'Please don't do this.' He really did. He said, 'Shelley please don't do this.'"
Lubben has also admitted, "I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, Impulse Control Disorder, Alcohol Dependence, Depressive Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I was prescribed zoloft, sleeping pills, lithium and counseling" but "He [the Lord] has completely restored me. I am totally free from drugs, alcohol, bad memories, mental illness, sexual trauma, guilt from the past, and everything from the old life."
As for UCLA, please note that the panel was stacked 4 to 2 in favor of those who would either legislate or regulate mandatory condoms into all adult movies (in Lubben's case, she wants to see the industry that did not value her as the star she believes she ought to be SHUT DOWN entirely).
