dont limit your self to the venetian - you can save a ton of money by booking at a hotel that is literally a few minutes walk from the show hotel

I'm staying comped at the flamingo, I hate harrahs even though its closer. TI is super cheap, mirage is affordable.

Venetian is a ripoff, but its the show hotel so its close and the rooms are nice.

I should have called my host at the Venetian I lost a lot of money there over the years, but I really don't feel like staying there this time.

what dont you like about the harrah's? ive stayed once and it was decent - im not really into the fancy room's as i dont plan on spending much time in the room

Nothing wrong with Harrah's IMO, just a cheap hotel. I got a room there as well.

Problem is a lot of the closer, less expensive hotels are sold out or they have jacked their rates up to match the Venetian.

It's good to see that the best kept secrets in Vegas are still a secret. There are a number of hotels that are less expensive and close missing from that map.

Dang you're right - im so glad we booked awhile ago. I was able to get a package through southwest.com for flight+hotel for $600
