Hows the weather and flights in London?

My girlfriends brother is flying through London Heathrow (with British Airways) on Wednesday. He has friends at the airport that have been there since Saturday stranded... zoinks!

Being impossible to call BA themselves, online looks like flights will resume around tomorrow, but anyone in the area heard differently?

They were closed yesterday, and the day before. Apparently they opened today for some flights but it's showing the flights are either delayed or cancelled online. I hope its fixed by tomorrow but who knows... the uk stops dead when it snows!! xx

Just had some more snow but the roads don't look too bad so I would have thought they could clear the runways.

looks to be a lot better from what I'm reading online. there is still a ton of people trying to get out of there since Saturday, can only imagine the next few days being nuts

My flight in tonight was even 12 minutes AHEAD of schedule!!! But that's most probably an exception. The airport is full of people who have issed their flight and has been delayed and so forth. The talking goes that the first flights out with seats still available are on the morning of Christmas eve, due to so many being stranded and who have already filled up the other flights.

If possible, I would do what ever humanly possible to avoid routing in/out or even via London Heathrow this week. It's bound to get messy. If possible, take another route.
