Yeah, I wouldn't either. Very easy to have a program autorun that will scan your computer for ftp clients and send out ftp info to a central location, or even install a keylogger that will steal your bank info.

Why not? I mean, the companies logo is right on there so they're at least a little responsible as to what they hand you. Some companies don't even upload any data on there so they are empty for you to use as you wish. Other companies simply put their catalog or specials on them. PLUS, we have to load the drives, so if anything F'ed up goes on them, it would F our gear up first... and that ain't happening!

My dad is in the trade show business and spends a few days each week at a show of some sort.

Everyone and their brother is giving these away. I've got an entire drawer full of them and have never had an issue with anything fishy having been loaded on them.

90% of the business cards I got from Amsterdam are companies I have never heard of. A random person could show up at a webmaster show with a USB drive with software like i mentioned above preloaded on it and do god knows what with no consequences. Your gear wouldn't get fucked up because I doubt you are loading the software onto the USB drives one at a time, and even if you did, the ones you are putting in wouldn't have any autoplay stuff until you removed them since you'd be putting in empty ones...

Not saying you'd do such a thing, but you never know what your clients might want to do.

Vaild points to some extent, but me thinks you're over-thinking the marketing goal of these things.

I do see the finished product as I test them after they're loaded. SOmething "silent" could be on them and I'd never know, but again- I think everyone pretty much has a good intention when using these.

We go that high and beyond, but typically people don't give away a 16 gigs memory stick for a freebie. But, yes, we have it.

We like new and unique too! Let me know if you need eye-catching ideas. I live for that stuff!

And, thanks for the $0 heads-up, we're aware of it. Many of those are outdated items or old specials that are easier to zero out. I know this will sound VERY foreign in today's marketplace, but I actually encourage people to ask me what they're looking for and I find it! Nice n' easy for you! The site is good to browse but it's not perfect, and we know this. Nor is it all that is available. Again, if you're looking? Just ask me! I can find things from all of our bazillion suppliers.

OK, thats cool. When I get a new thumbdrive, I always erase any software on it, never saw a reason for it. The new tiny macros are cool

One of the coolest promos I have ever gotten in this business was a few years back when Mayor's Money sent me a usb drive that had all of their downloadable promo content as well as all their banners and ads on it. It also had a couple of cool videos of them behind the scenes. It made my life easier and I still use the drive to this very day.

There ya go! Successful promotional marketing! A few years later and you STILL remember it. 90.6% of the companies out there wish they gave a product that was remembered past an alcohol/drug/sex-fueled weekend at a show... nevermind 2 years later! Maybe that was the key... to mail it you!

could you do a small penis shaped usb drive ( that the lid wouldn't pop off ) ?

i would think that would be a hot seller/promotional item.

p.s. i am confused about this item
http://www.promocentric.net/products...34&prod=123484

it appears to be the item that takes the longest , yet isn't it plain brown bags with no logo's ? should that not be the simplest of orders

ha! YES, we could design a penal drive. You want hair on the balls? We can add some curly's.

And those brown bags take so long because we hand-kill each tree, for the finest paper bag experience you've never imagined.

$4.59 is the price for 1 of those USBs on ebay, if you make a bulk purchase they are even cheaper.

I think WHO you get it from would play a big part in your decision ...

and my A/V scans anything I plug into the USB port automatically ... maybe you should update to a 21st century Antivirus?

I'll just buy one at the grocery counter for a few bucks. Why the fuck would I order something like that over the Internet? Times must really be tough.

people ARE already doing business with me because I am very trustworthy actually... but thanks.

apples to apples? Fwd me the details of those drives and let's compare what we've got. I'm sure even if they're shown lower we'd still beat the price for you. If all else fails after that... which it won't... send me your address and I'll show up wearing a ski mask, haz-mat suit, and tongue condom and eat your bung like you want.
