Quite the gambit though. Is he sure he'll never need webmasters in the future? I think some plan on getting into mainstream and trying to cloak their identities to hide past transgressions. The problem with that is if you piss someone off enough and they are motivated they are probably going to find out all of your other ventures too. And they'll likely talk. It seems rather stupid to burn all that goodwill over a couple months of payouts.

will76 12-15-2010 12:40 PM

Dave this is all bulshit and you know it. It shows more about the financial postion of your company not wanting to pay out on a "little" amount of money than some affiliates dead links. Those people you claim you can't contact, they obviously still cashing your checks, send them a notice with their check. Oh wait LOL you stopped sending checks....

Bryan G 12-15-2010 12:47 PM

Talk about the destruction of a well known well respected company over the years. All this within a week.

Its been going on for much longer than a week. There's been multiple threads over the last few months by former affiliates wondering why they can no longer login with no explanation and why their emails don't get any response and money owed never comes. Dave suddenly disappeared off the boards then popped back up recently to remove his sig with his sites in it and didn't respond to any of the threads. Seems a few of his bros finally got a hold of him and wondered what was going on so he's back making a last ditch attempt to save some face.

Sad when someone builds up a solid reputation and company name over a decade, then decides when times get tough they are going to try and run over the little guy to help keep the business afloat. I have a feeling though that since Dave has distanced himself from Cyberage and Camsnetwork by removing them from his sig, that he either had a falling out with his partner or has been bought out. Now I see Dave has taken Cyberage out in front of his name and has put "Semi- Retired". Looks like he's going to claim he's not responsible for the improprieties because he's no longer with the company.

It's clearly total bullshit. We have all seen how this script plays out many times.

I really doubt he got bought out. My guess is they are going to squeeze all the cash out of the rebills that they can, possibly sell off some pieces at the very end and then ride out into the sunset.

Just for the record, we have never done business, but based on the recent threads (started both by others and yourself), your posts about cutting of people "that have not updated their sites in years" and the almost aggressive tone of your posts in response to what every webmaster who is serious about his business would consider valid questions I doubt I'll ever do business with you in the future.

Took the words out of my mouth. :2 cents:

You're probably right, not a lot he could ask for on a buyout for an ancient avs model, failed tube site and white label cam site. I was thinking more along the lines that he didn't want to deal with the affiliates who got screwed over so he just distances himself from Cyberage as if its not his responsibility anymore.

Vjo 12-15-2010 01:49 PM

How bout posting a "hey contact us, we cannot contact you" before we take your rebills thread?

Yeah, that's exactly what is happening.

BlackCrayon 12-15-2010 01:50 PM

you are still keeping the rebills of these people you cut off, it seems you are doing this on purpose as avs is dead, most people have moved and you assume, won't notice.

For anyone (not technical enough to already know how to do this) who is not getting paid, locked out of their weblounge, and also feels that they are being treated unfairly and has exhausted all means to resolve the situation here is an .htaccess file which you should be able to place in the protected (where the content actually is, not the join page) directory. All requests within this directory from Cyberage domains will be rewritten to the domain and url specified (you need to change that part).

Code:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://.+\.avsofchoice\.com/* [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://.+\.cybersexnetwork\.com/* [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://.+\.cyberage\.com/* [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://.+\.ugas\.com/* [NC]
RewriteRule /* http://www.DOMAIN.com/chargeback.html [R,L]

Change "http://www.DOMAIN.com/chargeback.html" to where ever you'd like them to go. I suggest either forwarding them to another AVS which will actually pay you or perhaps setting up a file advising the customer on how to initiate a chargeback against Cyberage. Of course you'll need to have your server configured for it to work but most virtual hosts already are.

If anyone has IPs or User Agents for the bots cyberage uses to check sites, let me know and I can whitelist them so they'll think the sites are still up. :thumbsup

Just make sure you really want to do this and all other options have been exhausted
Test it to make sure it works. If not simply remove the file (.htaccess) to reverse it. Back up any existing .htaccess file in case you need it.

Seriously, the guy sounds like a crazy person. He's given so many contradictory statements, I just dont appreciate seeing hard working webmasters getting fucked out of money they've earned, particularly from a program that has done seemingly well on the backs of those same webmasters. What the fuck is that.

will76 12-15-2010 04:47 PM

He is definitely having some serious problems on his end. He stops posting here about 2 months ago out of the blue. He posts several times a day then boom nothing for 2 months. During that time lots of posts are made asking for payment. He is not replying to emails sent to him. HOWEVER he logs into GFY to change his sig and remove all of his company sites.

Then he pops up finally after Dean contacts him and he gives some bullshit about semi-retiring. I guess semi-retiring is like a tube site that is "tube site that is not like a tube site". He goes on and on about family and spending time with kids then he spends all day here pissing and fighting with people. He says his partner decided not to pay some affiliates, then he says all affiliate are paid, then he makes excuses why affiliates wont be paid. Now he changes his nick away from his company name. The guy is acting like he is about to have a melt down but telling you how great his restaurant and other offline businesses are making millions and Cyberage is still doing great blah blah... he is obviously having serious problems on his end and trying to spin it / sell it here any way he can so he can try to save face.

What's worse is they never responded to any emails at all, leaving affiliates to wonder why they could no longer login and why they weren't getting anymore checks.

Then change the nick to 'semi-retired' and put a children's charity organization link in the sig.... the irony.

Yeah, WTF? It's like Dave is saying, "SEEEEE I'm a good person!!!"

Agent 488 12-15-2010 10:00 PM

everyone assumes there is any rebills left. would not be surprised the dozen or so people who can't login were the only ones left. and the "little owed" was the little money that was still coming in.

business models from two years have been decimated this year let alone a decade old.

not one person came forward to say they were still making money despite the claims of huge wires. it's done.

jscott 12-15-2010 10:06 PM

Dave still trying to justify this, and back himself up about this is just hilarious LOL

Anyone who got scammed by Dave should just send his family, neighbors and friends a detailed statement of how he scammed you. Make sure you hit his Facebook friends list and let them know as well. Make sure you find his address and send one to 10 house numbers before and 10 house numbers after his. You are doing nothing wrong if you are telling the truth. Enough of this BS scamming while we let the scammer live their lives like normal. Honest program owners need not worry and people don't need to jump the gun with something like this. But when someone decides 'Fuck you all I'm not going to respond to anyone for weeks and when I do it's to say that we just simply aren't going to give some of you guys your money' then it's time to make sure that for the rest of their lives, online and in real life everyone knows exactly who they are dealing with.

Remember; find where the person lives, go to Google street view and find the house numbering pattern and send a snail mail letter to 10 houses on either side of his. Be honest and say exactly what happened, that you had an agreement for x number of years and now after refusing to answer you for x number of weeks you are being told flat out that you aren't getting your money and you feel that this person is scamming you.

These guys are buying nice things with money that you worked hard to get - they are laughing and enjoying their time with your money while you sit there and work. This is not right.

Let this be a warning to any program owner that decides they want to try to pull some shit like this on their webmasters. Enough is enough and if you think you can be a thief without the public humiliation of being a thief brought to you and anyone who profits off of your thievery then think again. That time needs to be over.

jimmycooper 12-15-2010 10:37 PM

Shitty sites that haven't been updated for years are bad for all of us because, while they might convert here and there to random idiots and make a few bucks for their pseudo webmasters, they put a bad taste in the mouths of the the many who view us all as one. Instead of bitching at Dave, who I don't even know btw, we should be thanking him for helping to clean up a mess that desperately needs to be cleaned up.

Agent 488 12-15-2010 10:45 PM

you will find as many active cyberage affiliates as satancash affiliates. come on man, that shit is dead. there is probably literally a "little money" still being made and owed.

Yes like people flying sigs saying check out my sponsor list while at the same time defending a scamming sponsor. Yes idiots like you DO need to be cleaned out of this industry.

Pseudo webmasters? Anyone who has ever built a network of websites would never say something like this. Go back to doing work on your shitty ass starletsheet that probably wouldn't make a single sale if you left it up for decades and stop criticizing people making sales.
