Met my horses this afternoon and got pics!

My 12 yr old took these pics on my ipod camera.. she takes great pics. Way better than I do, for sure. lol

This is Peebie... she's 6 months old, as I said before. Such a little sweetheart and she fell in love with my husband right away.

This is Sky, I have a feeling this is going to be my pride and joy, she is so gentle and sweet.

I promised better pics when I got to actually go and meet them.

NOW I have to get them home and fast or I may go mad. lol

I found out today that Peebie was on her way to the slaughter house when this lady got her.. so she is a rescue pony. I just cannot get my head around that at all.... she's just a baby, I don't get why someone would even consider that with a baby of all things.

it's disgusting the way people throw away animals like used toys they are bored of. i am empathetic to those that lost the ability to care for animals they loved when the economy downturned. i wish they would put a moratorium on all animal breeding at least until this current crisis is over (i will always be against dog and cat breeding for pets). so proud of you for rescuing *mwuah*

Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
                        think about that

Well I didn't know I was rescuing them until I got down there and seen them, and after that, I couldn't walk away from them. If I had the room, I'd have brought every one of the ones she had for sale home with me. lol

Peebie isn't in pain, she is a baby and she didn't know us. Once she met my husband she perked up quite a bit.

                            That is beautiful.

I know that if anyone tried to hurt or put down my animals (my animals = dogs), I would - without thought - show my dogs the same respect that they would show me. That respect = laying down their lives without a second thought.

Without thinking, I would lay my life on the line for these stupid animals. Is that crazy? They'd do it for me.

                            Left field, or what?

Actually no, that's not out of left field at all. We are the same way here. I have several cats that I bought from the same lady for the same reason. The first two we bought, they turned out to have been mistreated so bad that the male had a broken back and tail where he'd been raised in a cat carrier..... so when she put more up for sale, I went and bought those too.... and right after, I turned her ass in. She had a registered cattery and all of the animals that came out of there were so abused... and I knew I couldn't buy them all, so I turned her ass in.

This lady here, she means well I think and she has a big heart, but she has bitten off WAY more than she can chew on this and SHE is rescuing them to save them.... so it's kind of one of those things where they need some help... so, while most wouldn't have bought them and gone thru it, simply because they aren't in picture perfect health, I couldn't walk away from them because of that. She loves them and they love her, but she can't rescue them all..... she needs help..... and so do they. They just need a hug... and we have a lot of those around here.

THAT is why I end up with so damn many animals... because I just can't walk away from them. lol

I have four dogs and two cats, and I am living under a municipal "6 PET" bylaw. I hope to - very soon - get out from underneath of those restrictions.

My big boy is a rescue dog, and he has been horribly mutilated by the "people" that owned him before us. I could type for hours, but my heart is breaking.

I'm going to go lie in my bed with four stupid dogs. Damn, I love them.

Both of them combined will eat a bale of hay a month..... so hmm, I think that's considerably less than a full blown horse. lol

They will be in a fenced area that only belongs to them, so maybe they will be nice and play together well. lol

The only thing I can see being a pain in my ass is if my cats get too curious out there and go after them.... I hope the horses kick the shit out of the cats. There is a rabbit bed right dead in the middle of this lot that has been there for 10 years and the cats beat the shit out of them. We're hoping they scare the cats and the rabbits can be in their homes in peace. lol

So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants

Weanlings 4-6 months should only be about 30" I would say the older one, though it is hard to tell from the pics, is probably 36" maybe 38", and the young filly doesn't look to far behind him for only 6 months old.

Most mini's a A LOT smaller I think our biggest was 28" and we only got him as a "pet" for one of our disabled horses...lol

Even as pets you need to teach them certain things, mostly manners but a mini pulling a cart is great exercise for them and keeps them from getting sour. The last thing you need is a barns sour/ pasture sour mini, they are small but can still hurt you and they are more ornery than a full size horse even on a good day. There is something about mini's and ponies, they just aren't as cooperative and are a lot more stubborn than a full size horse, we called it short horse syndrome...lol

Granted a family member was our farrier for the broodmares but still, that is really high for just two horses!

No silly, I didn't mean I wasn't going to work with them and try and teach them things, first of all manners.. I just meant they aren't coming to live with me to be work horses. lol

There is a great deal of difference in their sizes, it is very hard to tell from these pics because she got much closer up to them to get better pics than the ones I had.

Peebie, the baby, she is just under 26 inches tall and Sky, the pinto, is about 32 inches tall or so, I'd say. She is almost as wide as she is tall. But her head held high only came just above my waist and I am 5'6" tall.

I'll say they are a bit bigger than I expected so I am not 100% sure they are actual minis. But to me, I don't care, they are mine and I fell in love with them.
