Canada negotiating perimeter security deal with U.S.

Looks like Canadians are about to get sucked MUCH further into the "Global War on Terror" as the DHS Security Gestapo expands its reach into Canada.

Canada negotiating perimeter security deal with U.S.

    STEVEN CHASE
OTTAWA? From Thursday's Globe and Mail
    Published Wednesday, Dec. 08, 2010 9:45PM EST

Stephen Harper?s Conservatives are negotiating a perimeter security agreement with the United States ? a deal designed to ensure the vital trade flow between Canada and its largest trading partner is not choked off by the aggressive U.S. security bureaucracy.

?We intend to work together to defend and protect the land, maritime, air, and cyberspace domains of both the United States and Canada and to enhance the security of our integrated transportation and communication networks,? says a draft version of a declaration on a possible deal obtained by The Globe and Mail.

?We intend to pursue a perimeter approach to security, working together within, at and away from the borders of our two countries in a way that supports economic competitiveness, job creation and prosperity, and in a partnership to enhance our security and accelerate the legitimate flow of people and goods between our two countries.?

Since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorism attacks in the United States, Canada has fought a constant battle to convince the Americans that bilateral commerce needs to be protected from the ever-expanding U.S. security clampdown that is clogging trade with new rules and procedures. Increasing border controls, for instance, in recent years have forced companies to abandon just-in-time shipping and stockpile goods to reduce the risks of transaction delays in cross-border trade.

It?s not clear how close Canada and the United States are to signing a deal that would more closely intermesh Canadian and U.S. security bureaucracies. The Prime Minister?s Office refused to comment on the matter on Wednesday evening, and Canadian officials denied an announcement is imminent.

The draft statement says the two countries intend to establish a ?Beyond the Border Working Group? of officials to implement and oversee the agreement. In Canada, the Privy Council Office would take the lead, while in the United States it would be national security staff within the White House.

?We intend for the BBWG to report to their respective leaders within 120 days of the signing of this declaration with a joint plan of action to realize the goals of this declaration,? it says.

The deal could trigger concerns over privacy and sharing of information with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, but the statement says a deal would respect sovereignty, privacy and civil liberties.

    ...

The agreement would also combine efforts to fight terror threats and computer hackers.

"We intend to work together to prevent, respond to, and recover from physical and cyber disruptions of critical infrastructure and to implement a comprehensive cross-border approach to strengthen the resilience of our critical and cyber infrastructure."

    Security clamp down?
Guess they don't know about our southern border?
Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
    think about that

Nail the front door shut, while the back door remains wide open.

I've posted about this a couple times and nobody has responded. I don't like it at all, and it really kind of popped up out of nowhere. Harper will take all the US cock in his ass that he can fit. I love how they repeatedly belt out that "perimeter" word, why don't they just use the appropriate term.... BORDER...

They say this is to make the transport of people and goods within North America to flow more easily, but it won't change shit. Your average person traveling around the continent won't face any less restriction than they do now. We're just handing over more control to the US with no benefit to ourselves again. The Canadian way.

So the government is going to spend all kinds of money protecting against illegal Canadians out of some sort of political correctness? So they don't look like they're being racist against Mexicans? Is there no room for common sense at all any more?

No. When they say perimeter, they mean and entire North American perimeter. Mexico is in on the deal too as far as I understand. The US is not happy with it's security perimeter ending at it's own border in it's effort to fight "terrorism". It feels the need to include Canada and Mexico in it's "perimeter", and Harper is more than happy to allow it. North American union here we come, even though they keep spitting the word perimeter and denying any type of economic union-type affiliation. It may help the transport industry, but I can't see it. Last time they tried something like this the whole thing fell apart and nobody paid fuck all for attention to whatever bill they passed anyhow. It's just an opportunity for the US to gain more access to Canadian matters. We're a terror training camp you see...

Yes, this is nothing more than a piecemeal approach to the NAU, SPP, North American merger that was so fiercely opposed years back. It's now back and being negotiated once again behind the backs of Canadians. The ramifications of this agreement will be absolutely devastating to the sovereignty of Canada.

All this in a time when the US is headed towards a full fledged tyranny too.

It's just globalization doing its thing, and we've been going down this path for decades, so don't expect it to stop anytime soon. Good chance we won't see it in our lifetimes, but there will be a one-world government sometime in the future. It's inevitable.

Whether or not you see it as a good or bad thing is up to you. On one hand, instead of all of us being governed by a different group of elites, we end up all being governed by the same group of elites, and I can see how that could turn out quite horribly wrong. On the other hand, there's world peace, no more wars, and we can concentrate the world's resources on medical research, poverty, etc.

Canada would need to have a war to avoid being in the NAU, just like the UK entering the EU; there really was no choice. The UK have given in peacefully, the leaders know they have no choice, they know they will be assassinated if they try to resist. To stop the Bankers with their plans for the world would take World War III, but the Bankers would most likely win

you think a one world government will bring on world peace? holy shit man, you've got to be kidding. world peace by extreme force perhaps. step out of line and be killed but hey we've got world peace. not to mention there would be quite a large (i'd imagine) resistance to such a thing by people AND certain countries which will be labelled terrorism and the cycle continues..
