The Elusive Kobe Wagyu Beef
Even though it was asked months ago, ive done hours of research trying to find any means of getting this so called top of the line wagyu kobe beef. Hopefully this answers some peoples questions about Kobe Wagyu beef.
Explanation of Kobe Wagyu: http://www.chefseattle.com/articles/kobe-beef/ Website for authentic Kobe Wagyu (from Japan but website is in English): http://purewagyu.com/ Webiste to order from the authentic Kobe Wagyu imported to the U.S: http://www.teamtrex.com/ When i inquired about ordering some from the last website, they responded by saying this: Since the outbreak of the Foot & Mouth Disease in Japan on April 20th, the Japanese government has self imposed an immediate ban on export of beef. We have been informed that Japanese government will not allow any export to U.S. for at least 3 months after the last known outbreak, and the earliest we can import will most likely be sometime next year, maybe April 2011. TREX Corporation will resume importing of Miyazaki Wagyu as soon as the import restriction will be lifted. We sincerely request your understanding and for your support when we resume the business. Meanwhile, we are handling American Wagyu - cross between Wagyu and Black Angus, grown in U.S.A. Kindly contact me if you'd like further information on this American Wagyu. So it may be possible to get Kobe Wagyu in the U.S but as of yet I haven't found it, at least until April 2011. If anyone knows a place to get authentic Kobe Wagyu Beef, please post. Thank you |
