This is groundbreaking stuff. Leaving the skin on the fries. How did they ever come up with such a great idea?

st0ned 12-08-2010 10:27 AM

I have always loved Wendy's fries. I was actually pretty pissed when I first saw they had changed them, but the new ones are just as good if not better.

TurboAngel 12-08-2010 10:48 AM

They look good but why put that crazy watermark on that pic?

and why take 3 ketchup pots instead of 1?

I bet he took enough napkins to wipe the asses of the population of a small village for a week too...

I never peel potatoes. Whats the point? Just wash em and scrape off anything odd, or cut out any bad spots and rock n roll. Why throw away that nutritional goodness?

I fry up my own potato chips (or crisps) sometimes. Pain in the ass, but they sure are good. If only I could make em last more than 4/5ths of a second....

Fry once at 125 degrees. Remove. Cool.

Fry again at 175 degrees. Remove.

Then you end up with chip perfection:

Best served with home made hollandaise and fillet.

(This was my birthday dinner my lovely lady made me a couple of weeks ago).

My taste buds orgasmed reading that recipe and looking at the picture.

I'm never setting my foot in a wendys since the last time I went and even gave a customer review to their corporate and did not receive any response. Here i saved a copy:

First I will start off by saying Worst Wendy's location ever... With all the competition that Wendy's has on Sunset blvd./ Hollywood you would think that the appearance and taste of the sandwiches would be much better than it was. Ordered a Chicken Grilled sandwich the bun was so flat it looked like pita bread. The chicken itself tasted decent but the lettuce/tomatoes and the appearance and laziness of whoever put it together definitely showed. The fries were sub-par, most soggy and just ugly looking/ not fully cooked?. Oh, and I forgot to add the lady at the drive thru didn't once acknowledge me as in Here is your order that is all have a good day, nothing. Would you like ketchup.."? nothing. I understand this is Hollywood but I'm sure your loosing business to the In N out 1 minute from this horrible store. I will not be coming back to this location even if you offer me free coupons. In fact I threw half my sandwich away and going to vomit the rest."

I tasted dutch fries in Amsterdam, it was the popular shop right on Dam
http://static2.unlike.net/system/pho...jpg?1234805064
The fries were nothing to write home about, they were cheap on the salt, cheap on the mayo and ketchup which you need to pay extra for... I have no problem to pay extra, but jesus give me what I'm paying for.
I do love MCDs fries though :D

This...Fuddruckers is the shit!

thickcash_amo 12-08-2010 05:26 PM

the new fries dont look any different, and its kinda upsetting that they are trying to market them at "natural" or "better for you".

Dood 12-08-2010 08:00 PM

For the Euros here, I've always wondered if you guys have these style potato wedges

sea salt is in.. and i thought i heard it is a healthier salt, perhaps less of the bad type sodium?
sure taste better though, i use only gourmet seasalt now on steaks and meats.

btw this is a porn site, how can a picture of potatoes get this much attention.

fast food fries i have come to like inandoutburges fries, yes they are thin almost as the mcdonald fries.

worldwide the belgians are probably best known for their gourmet french fries and all types of dipping sauces..

Yes. Been the standard version of a chip that ends up on your plate in a pub restaurant for years.

My British programmer opened up a fish and chip shop earlier this year and while we were testing the deep fryers and different potatoes he only wanted one type of cut and that was thick square and without seasonings.

In the first pic I posted, those are almost a quarter of a potato each and I don't think he'd ever heard of those before. He acted like there weren't many variations in the UK chip shops other than the regular thick cut bright yellow ones, which are fine but just seems like a chip shop would have lots of variations like those huge wedges and spiral cut (curly fries) or waffle fries or whatever else.
