A friend of mine (works for an adult company) started a thread about some sort of deal or extra payout for the holidays and new tour pages and tools etc, standard stuff. The kind of BUSINESS related thread everyone seems to want to see in lieu of most of the crap that gets posted. So I guess he got a dozen or so responses. He's happy...webmasters are happy (pageviews...so you think the board would be happy) all is good, right?

His account gets canned and he gets the following email......


"go spam your shit somewhere else, this isnt fucking GFY. Dont come back"

You are probably right. That is one of the things I like about GFY is that you can post announcements about your program here from time to time and the mods seem to be cool about it as long as it's not abused. My guess is that a lot of other boards are sensitive about it because they are pretty close to the margins when it comes to their advertisers. It does suck when you have really good news or offers to get out there and you are forced to use the 'spam forum' but rules is rules

Many affiliates have grown extremely skeptical of promotions and generally don't even want to see them. A more affiliate focused forum ran mostly by affiliates could very well reflect that attitude. That might be what he meant by "this isn't GFY".
