    Heath Ledger Cameo in 'The Dark Knight Rises'?

    "Get ready for one of the more absurd rumors you'll read all week. According to Comic Book Movie ? who've been shoveling out some doozies this past month ? Christopher Nolan is entertaining the idea of giving a cameo to Heath Ledger's Joker in The Dark Knight Rises.

    Since Legder unfortunately passed on prior to The Dark Knight hitting theaters, in order to do this they'd have to either use old never-before-used footage from The Dark Knight and/or some sort of CGI wizardry, similar to what The Sopranos did with Tony's mother Livia after that actress had passed away.

    On side note: Tony's mom in sopranos looked horrible cgi-ed of course they will do better job (bigger budget + better production team) what do you think?

      I definitely agree with not re-casting. What Ledger did with that character should never be disrespected by allowing another actor to take over. CG is getting good enough to pull it off gracefully.

                      The Joker was never Heath Ledger's. He played the Joker in one movie. That is all. Anyone else can play Joker, just because Heath Ledger died it doesn't mean dick shit.

                          Heath Ledger Not Making Posthumous Appearance In Batman Movie

                          Heath Ledger - Deceased actor, Heath Ledger and the unseen footage from his role as the Joker in Dark Knight circulated around the rumor mill as reports accured that director Christopher Nolan planned to use the footage in the new Batman movie Dark Knight Rises. One insider said:


                          "The idea is to use these fragments of cut scenes and use CGI to have The Joker appear one last time. Chris wants some continuity between movies and for the franchise to pay tribute to Heath and his portrayal of the Joker."

                          However, Christopher Nolan's wife shot that down very clearly:

                          ?I heard the rumor, we?re not doing that. We?ll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we?ll be introducing some new ones."                          At any rate, Heath Ledger's role in Batman is legendary and will always be remembered.
                          I actually read that last night, and here's an arcticle dated 12/1/10 denying the rumor:
