Continue that cycle for a few decades, and you end up with what we have now. In the US, cops will show up at your door because you bought too much cough syrup, and they'll suspect you of having a drug lab. Quote:

You've got your head so far up your ass, you can't see how this shit is affecting the rest of the World. Canadian airports to install full-body scanners TORONTO ? Full-body scanners will be introduced in Canada in the wake of the failed Christmas Day bombing attempt of a U.S. airliner, Canada's transport minister said Tuesday. Transport Minister John Baird said Tuesday 44 machines will be purchased. Twelve will be put in place later this month, and the rest will be operational in the spring. The suspect in the failed Northwest Airlines bombing had changed planes in The Netherlands and gone through security, but not through a full-body scanner. "Given the recent terrorist incident on Dec. 25, our government is accelerating its actions to protect air travelers," Baird said. |
Pretty soon you'll need to be searched to go to the mall. We had a guy go nuts in our local mall, he set fire to it, and burned half of it down - right before Christmas.

As for the Iran Iraq war, Saddam started that one on his own and for his own reasons. The USA only came to his aid when an Iranian victory seemed likely and no one welcomed that decision more than the rest of the Arab world. Quote:
And, yes, the Israelis have been ruthless in protecting their statehood ever since, but given their history this should come as no great surprise. Moreover up until 9-11 the USA frequently acted as a moderating influence on Israel. For instance, the USA on two occasions put pressure on Israel not to kill Arafat when they had him cornered first in Beirut and later in Gaza. Quote:
Contrary to popular thinking, not everything that is wrong in this world can be blamed on the west. |

There's always going to be lunatics out there, and it's just one of life's facts that you need to accept. No amount of security can stop an intelligent lunatic who went off the deep-end. But the government has managed to convince people there's a terrorist hiding behind every bush, and boarding every plane, which is completely retarded. |

In Spain after the metro bombing they installed luggage scanners, but only on the super expensive high speed trains not on the rest. A case of protecting the train fuck the people.

told you. the day you finally wake up, will be too late. the people running the show have nothing to fear. all goes as planned. the sheep stand in line to be embraced by the system. all cool.
at the end when someone finally finds out that Soylent Green is people it will all be too late. |
I wonder how many peole won't go by bus but by car when they introduce this in Dutch trains and busses. I certainly would never go by train or bus.
But we now they have a hidden agenda. Do we get bodyscanners in cars also? A terrorist can use a car for transport. And even a bike with big bags on the back. i saw this bike in a Vietnamese museum http://www.flickr.com/photos/hantek/483370001/ |

And as Dcat says, this shit is affecting the rest of the World, not just the US. Take a look at what is happening in the UK right now. Once you enter the airport terminal there you feel like you're in a police state. They intend to shut down our means of communication for when the shit hits the fan. |

"It’s not difficult to envision the day where anyone wishing to take mass transportation in this country will have to first submit to a government checkpoint, show ID, and answer questions about any excess cash, prescription medication, or any other items in his possession the government deems suspicious. If and when that happens, freedom of movement will essentially be dead. But it won’t happen overnight. It’ll happen incrementally. And each increment will, when taken in isolation, appear to some to be perfectly reasonable."

Back in 2000 I spent a month in Venezuela. This was my first trip to South America so I didn't really know what to expect. At that time their capitol, Caracas, was the murder capitol of the world. I didn't know that going in.
One thing that I found disturbing was the amount of well armed police and military police walking around and at pretty much all major areas of gathering. Bus stations, malls, train stations, bus stations, airports, and even just walking the streets in units in full war gear and attack dogs. I got the sense that "something bad" could happen at any time. It was more or less a military state in the capitol city. At that time I was thankful I didn't live in a country that had to protect itself in that manner and have the military and police literally everywhere. I kept wondering what could possibly have happened to them to cause this display of power. The last time I flew into the USA I was SHOCKED when I saw small military units walking through the airport with machine guns and attack dogs. I had an instant flashback to my trip to Venezuela and said to myself then, that this was just the start of something bad. When I was in Caracas at that time, I had no idea that within the decade, the same country I was once thankful to live in, would more or less look the same way. While the USA isn't as bad yet, give it a 2 or 3 years and it will look exactly the same. The odd part is, I've since made many trips back to South America, especially Venezuela, and I do not see such a military and police presence as I did then. If you drive by land to city to city in Colombia, you will often come across military check points. They are geared up for battle, machine guns and all, and will check your car and your documents. Some stretches of the country are more dangerous than others so you may run into these guys every 10 miles, or less. It is an uneasy feeling to constantly come across such check points, but Americans will soon have them as well. It is inevitable. Think of what all has happened in the last decade. From 2000 to 2010. Now imagine what the next decade will bring. By 2020 we will no doubt all by living in as close to a police state as one can get. At the rate things are going, I would not be surprised to see a full police state within 10 - 15 years. Maybe less. And heaven help us all should another attack or two happen on American soil. Dark days ahead I'm afraid. |

Americans how will you feel when they bring the troops home and the ones you "support" are hired to keep you in place?
The more you put blame on a government the more control they are going to seize. this is exactly what has happened. |
Fear itself. Already lost.

If these videos from the DHS don't show you where this is all headed, I don't know what will.
Under the guise of protecting us from the "terrorist" the DHS is planning a World-wide Police State Control Grid. ?Future Attribute Screening Technology? (FAST) checkpoints will conduct ?physiological? and ?behavioral? tests in order to weed out suspected terrorists and criminals. |
We are all criminals / terrorists until proven innocent.
It's the American Way. |

The whole irony is that it's happening not in Russia, not in some Eastern Europe country, but in the Worlds capital of democracy, in the USA. And you Americans afraid of European immigrants still requiring visas for us. You know what? Most people I know don't want to go and live in America. Some of them have been in the USA for a while but they don't want to go back there. |
