I was thinking of getting the Smart Scripts thing....

but really I don't know if I need something that indepth... I need something that's just going to change the sidebar thumbnails... so it would be like one column on either side of the blog of thumbnails...

Would there be a free script for that? or something under $200?

Also I'm reading about link trader scripts.. however, 10 pages back, I don't see anything sorta explaining what they are... Don't wanna be spoon fed.. just right direction so I don't waste any money...

You can use TGP Rotator for that. Have it build 2 files containing your thumbs (hourly or daily or every 5 hrs or...), use ssi or php (include or readfile) to include them in your blog.
