    typical republican

God god this guy is off to a good start.

Republican Gov. Bill Haslam has signed an executive order that eliminates a requirement for the governor and top aides to disclose how much they earn.

Under the order signed after Haslam took office on Saturday, the disclosure rules applying to himself and senior administration officials will be the same as those for members of the General Assembly. Those only requires them to list sources of income, but not how much they make.

The move wipes off the books former Democratic Gov. Phil Bredesen's first executive order of 2003, which required the top executive branch officials to make annual reports about their total earnings.

Haslam was heavily criticized during the campaign for refusing to say how much he earned from family owned Pilot, a national truck stop chain with annual revenues of about $20 billion.

If you have never heard of Pilot I have to think you do not travel on the road very much. I probably saw 2 or 3 of them today alone and at least 5 on the past two weeks.

My question is WTF does it matter how much his chain of truck stops makes? What does that have to do with his ability to govern?

Elected public employees must always be required to reveal all their income. Not requiring such will allow special interest lobbying groups to "donate" money to politicians without anyone knowing. This disrupts democracy.

This is the first time in forever that the GOP controlls the governorship and both state houses ( Stickyfingerz wet dream ). So I expect Tennessee to be super fucked up in 2-3 years.
