Depends on the traffic source and quality, I'd say if you have a few hundred thousand uniques of mobile traffic per month, you could make some decent money.

i redirect hundreds of thousands of mobile hits per month from google and it still keeps coming, so i dont think google cares.
you redirect them by checking their agent tag for certain strings. you can do this either server side with php/asp or you can do it via on page javascript. i use java.
