Before judging based on the title itself, I really think that nowadays porn sites have a really bad gay search engine. To be honest we all watch porn. Based on my opinion and experience with other people, search results are often unrelated to search terms, you search for one thing but you get another.

I did build a demo just to test the algorithm, but results are pretty good. I will wait for a couple of weeks to validate results myself. I focused only on gay videos. It's not an overnight project, it's a project that will last for years.

But I genuinely believe that it is the problem that nobody has addressed or tried to resolve so far.

I agree the search problem is real. The hard part is usually not the search box; it is clean metadata.

If you can combine tags + performer aliases + scene categories + user behavior, and keep the catalog curated, you may get much better results than most tubes. Bad tags will kill any algorithm.
