I don't necessarily care about someone seeing free porn images, but this "beta" search engine is hotlinking peoples images without asking their permission

some webmasters wanting to participate may leave sample images open to the public

Many webmasters who don't know about anti hotlinking, leave themselves open to bandwidth problems

Then what about a person who has copyrighted images or designs on their site

"you may not use or reproduce this image without express permission by the author"

Google conveniently bypasses that text

so if you are an vinyard and pay a photogrpaher to do some custom shoots in your wine cellar and design a nice website
google is saying the any person who has access to this image search on "wine" can use your images as clip art bypassing the copyright text

Actually, I thought of a pretty cool use for this;

Let's say you use max cash-
You know all the wierd little names that they give their jpegs and gifs

You can use the google image search to look for these images, and hotlink the banners from someone else, when they discover you, just search again and viola another set of banners to hotlink

These are SEs ppl. You _want_ traffic from them. In case you
didn't look, they show "thumbs". Its just another SE link to your site.
robots.txt disallow? So now we submit to SEs and then filter their links
out? And, unless all your pix are named "tits" I don't see how BW
comes into play here.

robots.txt is not used by all SEs either. robots.txt has always been a
secondary measure for indexing permissions. You want to block your
better off with meta tags.
