    trouble with my icq

    I just got icq and I am so confused. When someone icq's me I know how to respond but I don't know how to initiate icq. I know that i have 4 people on my icq list - people that I can somehow automatically click on to see if they are on line.

    I don't know where to go to punch in someone elses icq number to try to contact them and I don't even know what my own icq number is or where to find it...

    Any one help me with this?
    I'm very new at all this.
    I'm just a porn photographer learning how to expand to online media and I'm stll pretty new with all this.

                          If you have the ICQ that I have, just go to their name in your list and click the name you want to chat with. A menu pops up. Click on ICQ chat, and type your message.

                          The only way I know how to punch in users ICQ # is to click on "Add/Invite users" then put in their ICQ #. It will show a small profile of them: ICQ #, nickname, real name (if they added one) email address...
                          Double click on the ICQ # after is searches, and you will be prompted to ask them for permission to be added to their list...


                          Or is this a fuckin' joke that I wasn't in on?

                                          It's gone.....it's usually down there on the right hand at the bottom of my screen....

                                          How do you icq someone if your icq logo is not there?

                                          Because I've been clicking on it like you told me to and it works but now it's not there.

                                              Go to your start > Programs > ICQ > ICQ
                                              At first mine would have conflicts. I would try to search, and it would shut down. Then when I would try to open it, it would say it was already running. I would eventually have to restart.

                                                                  Justin we had probs until the last few months with icq and 5.5. Then MS released some new updates and it seemed to resolve itself. Check to make sure at MS Windows Update's page that you are current and see if that helps
