What would you say if the bartender only filled he glass 3/4 the way full...

A buddy and I were having a beer and I asked for a pint of sierra nevada and the bartender only filled up the glass a little over 3/4, It was like an inch short from the top. On top of that my friend asked for a fat tire and the keg was going dry, It spurted out a little in the glass and the bartender said it must be out, Then with out dumping out the fat tire he mixed the second glass of sierra with the fat tire..

    This guy ain't gett'n a tip.

Bartender sounds like a fucking moron.. I bet he won't last long or he'll get his shit together really quickly if people are vocal about what he's doing wrong.. mixing two different beers together without permission unless he's required to do so for the specific drink (example a "black and tan") is just stupid and wrong of him..

I've never seen a four inch pint glass before.

An inch from the top? That's about the norm, depending on the glass style. Some glasses leave more room for head than others, but if its an inch, on a normal glass, that would be about right. Some glasses will have a mark telling you.. as well as the bartender where the fill line is for 20oz.

As for mixing 2 different beers, right there I would have told him to re-pour.. or leave.

Bar tenders leave your glass short all the time here in Canada, pissed me off. It's not going to kill me having an inch less beer but it's just rude. Paying $7-8 a pint and they can't be arsed to top it off.

In Scotland you'd get that glass thrown back at you if you left it an inch short. Usually your pint comes overflowing.

                                    More bartender horror

Old friend is a dealer in Vegas. He came home to visit his parents, so we went to the new casino here for a couple of drinks. They bill themselves as Vegas style experience. Hard to do that when your steakhouse is closed one day a a week and they have to stop selling drinks at 2 a.m. When we sat down at the bar, there only only 2 other people sitting there. My friend ordered beer & I a whiskey and water, no ice so it was easy to tell how much was in the glass. After about 10 minutes my drink was down to about 1 sip. For the next 10 minutes neither of the 2 bartenders looked at me or my drink, despite I was sitting directly in front of the ice bin. The barback also never noticed my drink despite pouring several containers of ice in the bin. The manager came from the back a couple of times never noticed my drink. Granted drink servers were coming up to the bar to get drinks for gamblers. But they weren't that busy.
Finally asked the barback if he'd get the manager. Suddenly I had all 4 in front of me. I explained I wasn't mad, but they really needed to pay more attention to their their , if my glass is empty then that's a drink they didn't sell and a tip they don't get. Usually bartenders & servers ask me if I want another before it's 1/2 gone.

If customers don't get drinks it can be a quick road to bankruptcy. A friend's wife lost the restaurant her grandmother started. Great food, but after getting a drink from your server they seemed to always wait until you only had a bite or two of food left. Too late for another then. Had the servers been on the ball, they could have sold one or two more rounds per table and probably doubled their earnings. The amazing part was that every sever did that not just a couple.

Bring it to his attention. Maybe he got distracted. If you're at a busy bar with lots of people ordering drinks, it's easy to get distracted.....

There were 2 bartenders at the bar and only 2 other people sitting at the bar. They had plenty of time between cocktail servers. I would have mentioned it to the bartenders earlier but after we got the drinks were totally ignored. Never have that happen. I just got curious how long my glass would sit almost empty. But after 10 minutes enough was enough.
Hell, I've seen one bartender in a with 30 customers and 2 cocktail servers never let a customers empty or near empty glass without asking if they wanted a refill. And she could even find time to lean back and smoke.
