    Tax ID Business, identity

    Greetings,

I am looking to create some affiliate adult sites and I would like to use a Tax ID instead of SSN.

Anyone else use a tax id? if what type of business did you list when applying for one?

Futhermore, is there any way to keep my identity anonymous when running an adult affiliate site?

This is the mainstream business discussion area, try asking in Webmaster Q&A.

Are you located in the U.S.?

SSN are for individuals. If you have a U.S. corporation, you get a FEIN (Federal Employer Identification Number). The IRS doesn't ask what your business does other than a general idea. Easiest thing to say is Internet Marketing. Use Code 516110, it's so general.

I'm in Kansas, they ask no questions when incorporating. Just when you file annual taxes, same question as the IRS.

As for being anonymous, there has to be a Registered Agent for which ever state you choose to incorporate in. This person must have an address in that state.
Each year, you will have to file a federal tax return & a state return if that state has a state tax. You have to file even if you have zero income.
At least one person must be listed on the tax returns. If you want to be anonymous, you can do what a lot of restaurants do, hire an attorney to be the single listed shareholder. Restaurants do this a lot as the owners may be out of state or otherwise can't get a liquor license.

If you want a U.S. Corporation let me know. Leave me a contact address.

Yep, you need to form a Corporation/LLC. You can check out legalzoom.com to get started or you can simply talk to your accountant (if you have one). They can easily give you the best advice.
