    Microsoft Virtual Machine????

Okay, I have a M. Virtual Machine CD , and someone told me today that I should install it...but what the hell is it???

And the Microsoft Virtual Machine website says that "ONCE INSTALLED,IT CAN NOT BE UN-INSTALLED"..which makes me question it even more.

    HELP!

    Hey Babagirls,

The fact that it is Microsoft would make me skeptical even without the "cannot unistall" LOL. I spent half of the first days on my puters after buying them, just unistalling a shitload of MS proggies that they always seem to come with.

My understanding is that it's kinda like a driver for a graphic card probably already installed on your puter....

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not very familiar with it. I don't game and I try to stay away from Microsoft products whenever possible LOL.

It's supposed to help alot of plug in extras run correctly too so I read. We couldn't get some of the new stuff to run on sites a couple years ago and once we updated it, they ran right. Not sure why, maybe to interface windows to them better.

We never update it until its been out about a month.

They have updated that thing like 4 times in the last 8 mos.

Quien sabe lol (I think thats the right words)

        it's for running java applets

tools>internet options>advanced is where you can tweak it - i would suggest going to windows update rather than installing it from a disc, as it is probably already installed and you may have an older version on the disc

        here is a review

A self-contained operating environment that behaves as if it is a separate computer. For example, Java applets run in a Java virtual machine (VM) that has no access to the host operating system. This design has two advantages:

System Independence: A Java application will run the same in any Java VM, regardless of the hardware and software underlying the system.
Security: Because the VM has no contact with the operating system, there is little possibility of a Java program damaging other files or applications.
The second advantage, however, has a downside. Because programs running in a VM are separate from the operating system, they cannot take advantage of special operating system features.

          Now I beleive I just collected a T-Shirt for this ... ;-)

Hmmm..okay, I still dont know whether or not I should install it (from the website as an updated thing).

As most of you know, I "perfom" on an adult site. And when I run the software, if I dont refresh my browser every 5 mins's, my IE "Perfoms an illegal operation" and shuts down.

Now, I talked to the CREATOR of the software, and I seem to be the only one with that problem. He said to install Virtual Machine and it SHOULD cure the problem.

            can you help me out?

The updates normally just fix bugs they find with different java etc. It never hurt my cam site when I ran meta or java, or even streaming when we updated.

Yes, you should definitely update your Java virtual machine. If you don't trust Microsoft implementation of Sun Microsystems standard, then I strongly encourage you to install the Sun implementation found here : ftp://ftp.java.sun.com/pub/j2sdk/1.3.0/02828276/j2re-1_3_0_02-win.exe.

OK, I feel like a dumbass.

I promise Babagirls to look it up first prior to posting next time LOL. I don't have a clue as to what I was confusing it with. Thank goodness other people on this board know what the hell they're talking about.
