    News 13-year-old girls tried as adults for Slender Man murder

    Such a bizarre situation. I'm curious of their sanity. Thoughts?

    Two 13-year-old-girls accused of brutally stabbing a classmate to please make-believe horror character "Slender Man" will be charged as adults, a Wisconsin judge ruled on Monday.

    The girls are each facing one count of attempted first-degree homicide, where they could face up to 65 years in prison if convicted as adults, according to the Associated Press. In the juvenile court system, the girls would only have been held for five years, until they turned 18.

          I watched a show about this awhile back. The girl who was stabbed told her story and it was really crazy and sad. The girls who did it also told their story of how they were going to do it in a public restroom in a park but thought it would create too much blood. The three girls were best friends.

              The two Waukesha teens are accused of luring their friend to the woods in May 2014 where she was repeatedly stabbed in an effort to please the fictional online ghoul Slender Man.

              According to interrogation tapes released by Waukesha Police, the two girls said they believed the Internet character could hurt them or their families if they didn't carry out the attack.

                              Not only did she not die, she crawled from the place she was stabbed to a trail where a biker saw her and called 911. The attackers even talked about how to make her die quicker.

                                                                  My mistake about the murder. I recall hearing about this a while back and for some reason I thought it was a murder. When I saw the update, my memory kicked in and I did not notice that was attempted.

                                                                      why cant they be sane? do you think evil is inherently mental illness? & if you really want to get philosophical, does evil exist at all? whose values decide what is moral? without a criminal justice system, people would murder others as whimsically as animals kill each other in the woods. one could argue that justice only protects the weak from the strong, a headwind against pure darwinian existence.

                                                                                  I've never understood the entire insanity defense. With the exception of self defense, there is NO reason to ever take someone's life. If you do so, you are in fact insane.

                                                                                          Two girls in the same place planning a murder together would fail insanity. One could be insane and the other crazy, but honestly, I think people have just become mean, evil jerks lately. Why? I have no clue. Not enough discipline? Parents who let their kids watch movies like sinister? Parents who don't put filters on their porn machines or networks? Or, have there always been just evil people out there and now we hear more stories only because the world is smaller?

                                                                                          I find it amusing that other countries claim the USA has a lot more evil people when a) there are a lot more people in the USA and b) many of these countries hide their trash rather well.

To me killing someone on the orders of an online mythical character. Is insane enough, being 13 years old, another reason not to try them as adults.
