The company behind YouPorn and PornHub has agreed to fund an anti-piracy outfit dedicated to bringing down ?rogue? cyberlockers and illicit file-sharing forums. Speaking with TorrentFreak, the Adult Content Industry United Foundation says they will be using the money to cut off funding to cyberlockers in the hope that hitting them in the pocket brings them to their knees. But are cyberlockers and so-called ?tube? sites facing the same issues?

Either way, file lockers going offline is a positive step. Anyone who is able to bring down a single one, large or small, gets a kudos in my book. I really hate to say it but I don't think real change will occur unless Manwin also steps up to the plate and helps put a stop to it (including on their own sites). At this point we really need them. The pay site industry is that far gone because of the rampant piracy over the last five years.

I recall in the past much discussion about repeat infringers. Did Fabian ever enact a policy to terminate (or at least suspend future uploads from them) repeat infringers after three strikes and remove all their videos automatically as Youtube does?

I don't think Fabian, whatever you think of him, would risk what Manwin now owns and controls by owning large file sharing operations. The Feds took down Megaupload, it looks like Oron is on the run, file sharing sites look to be sitting ducks while tube sites continue to flourish behind the DMCA's 'safe harbor' provision.

Manwin's core business is still adult paysites, so file sharing sites are its enemy as much as for any of us smaller businesses. It's why in another thread I asked Fabian why Manwin hasn't done what Corbin Fisher has done.

I've been saying for years it's the file sharing sites that will kill us all off, tube sites have never bothered me as much.

I know most can't agree with it on principle, but I'd say in general - the less free porn easily available to end-users the better chances for us all to actually sell porn again.

This is actually the time to decide on which side you are on, are you just going to continue bitching or are you going to help this time around - most of us have just sat by idle while the tubes and file-lockers started taking over... Maybe it's time to stop sitting on the sidelines and take a stance with those that actually put their money and lawyers where their mouth is.

I actually think that's the main goal. Control everything, kill the competion and then "flip the free porn swith off" and reep in the benefits.

So don't give up, keep building your sites, work on getting traffic to them and lets hope that is actually the goal.

Incredibly naive. If the major Tubes flip the "free porn switch" off. Surfers will move to those who don't and those who start up. Then it's all "User Upload" or bought. If the cost of buying content cripples some, more surfers left for those with content or able to buy it. This is why content is King, surfers will always follow it. Then the advertising on piracy sites. This is why Manwin and the big Tube owners will go after the pirates.

It's so simple. 1000 pirates sharing the booty will end up with less than if it were 100 giving away free porn.

All of these lawsuits are nothing more than the latest porn business model. They all are only out for cash, not to help anyone.

Oron will settle. Slutload will settle. All of them will settle. That is the point of hitting them with super size multi-million dollar law suits. They will settle for a fraction of that and will agree to do something to help keep content off their site that belongs to the company suing them.

It's like when you get into trouble with the law. They often throw all sorts of BS charges on you and force you to plea to a lesser charge. They win and get a conviction, and you get fucked, but the fucking wasn't as bad as it could have been.
