the lighting sucks in these places , people pushing and showing the carousels turning..........I'm not complaining but not an ideal situation.... and I know some of them could be better

Here's the difference. It cost Ferrari $356.000 to build each Enzo, and it was sold at $650.000 (Good investment, by the way). There's at least 10 times more value in an Enzo. It's all technical value, which makes it a purebread.
The GT40 is an ancient engine, with ancient technology, and no added value. What the heck, Ford was doing so poorly in F1, with Jaguar, that the pulled out. F1 is the reflection of how good a carmaker can be. Toyota has amazing budgets, yet Renault is faster, and more reliable. Mitsubishi pulls out of rallies for a year, and they cannot catch up anymore. Makers like Ford a way behind. The good times of the original GT40 beating Ferrari are loooonnnggg gone.Comment

The old M5 was a missile. It had a very crappy clutch, but it was a bomb. If you can find one around $30.000, it worth every penny. The new M5 trasfers, cleverly, F1 concepts, but the car is so ugly!Originally posted by YoungComment

When you call a dealer. and you can get a Carrera for $70.000 under sticker, that's a disaster. Why did this happen? It took them a billion years to release the car, it should be more performing than the Enzo, that came out years ago, but it's not, they made the fatal mistake of producing too many. When you're supposed to spend that kind of money, you expect exclusivity, and you expect it to be the fastest thing on earth. Both things didn't happen with the carrera. It's a nice car, but it's not exclusive, and it's old. The Enzo still sells for $1.000.000, to $1.500.000. That is exclusivity. Only 399 built, all sold years before production. An Enzo never sat in the dealership, same thing for the F50, F40, 288...
The other day, I visited the Merc dealer, he had a McLaren sitting in the showroom, for sale! You're not supposed to have that car sitting there. I made a joke, and he said that he does not understand why Ferrari gets away with it, mentioning mafia, etc. With that attitude, that's probably with those Mercs are sitting there. No heritage, maybe? Look at how McLaren is performing in F1, look at how Merc engines are nicely blowing up. Image, and heritage count. Lamborghini, for example, has zero heritage, when they competed, in F1, they were a disaster. Lambos are, for italians, a B class Ferrari, but in the US, or in Arabia, for example, they're well regarded. It's because of the show off, not because of performance. Would you trust a supercar that blows engine when they try to compete, at any level? Would you trust a supercar where the make has no technology whatsoever?
You know, that does not mean that someone will buy a Ford GT40, but 20 years from now, a Lambo will cost $30.000, and Enzo, probably $2.000.000, and a GT40, maybe, $20.000. You know why? Because That heritage, and technology, at the end count. History shows you the real value of things. In fact, the original GT40, which had heritage, and really beat Ferraris, on track, is extremely pricey.
By the way, Ron Dennis, the owner of McLaren, is losing everything on this street car venue...Comment
