It's the best I've seen for connecting and up/downloading to several servers at once. All connections are nicely organized in bars

I wouldn't switch myself if I was satisfied with what I have. I have not used WS FTP for quite a while, it was my first one ~ 7 years ago. It was not stable

I think you can only get the pro version now but it's very stable and easy to use.

Ftp sucks use scp. Ftp usernames and password are
send in plain text over your internet connection.

It has a much more convenient interface for multiple sessions which I understand is not needed by all webmasters. Plus FlashFXP had some weird upload speed limit although no limit was set

I think the only thing SSH does is encrypt the data being transmitted; The plus is your data is encrypted. The negative is that it's a bit slower to handle the encryption.

i've been using Smart FTP for about 6 months, its interface is bulky but once you remove all their toolbars/icons/windows, its pretty sweet.
