It is stupid how there is no seatbelt in the backseat, they say 'well, we dont want people getting any ideas of how to use a seatbelt as a weapon' ... im like.. oh christ...

Oh, no, there was the actual strap with metal clip... just no like seatbelt thing you click into. So could easily be a weapon, or more dangerously if someone's freaking out they could strangle themselves with it..

I used to sit in the back of one every weekend when campus security (aka the local cops) drove me from the no-man's land of freshmen parking to my dorm room, lol.

I was to keep me out of the rain after someone crashed into my car. For a 6'4'' guy the back of a police car is NOT spacious.

Yeah, it was pretty cramped. They don't want people to be able to move around or kick, etc.. my dog was having a hard time sitting down even. :P

LOL, yes good service. I think the reason they did it was because there were several murders of young girls in the area within the past year so they didn't want any of the college students to get murdered as a result of the shitty freshman parking

The movie "Kiss the Girls" was in theaters at the same time and everyone was extremely freaked out (http://att.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,1853,00.html). During the same semester, there was a peeping tom who they caught jerking off outside the window of a dorm room that was near mine (ground-level room). I transferred out the very next semester. Creepy place.

The back of a cruiser is so small and tight that I guess the assumption is that you won't be flying around much back there anyway. Not that I know about it or anything ....

I've never been arrested...been given a ride by the police before. Home from a car accident...to work because I was underage and out early in the morning when it was still dark (breaking curfew) and they didn't believe me that I was walking to work (I was)...and to identify a thief after I was a witness to a crime.

I've been in more police cars than I care to remember.. But it has been years since the last time and I have never been charged or convicted of anything.. Never even gotten a ticket.

Well.. there was that one time I was charged with bank robbery, but that was an honest mistake on their part..

they use formed plastic seats here now . . .guess they got tired of people sliding contraband between the seat back and seat. No real way to add seatbelts with them.
