130k for cheesing it up for the camera? 24k for sitting around and twidling my thumbs?
let her go. she is unappreciative. Solo Web Diva....not cool
I agree with this fucker (first time ever). She isn't the hottes/cutest/mostadorable, etc. She is what you put into her.
As for not writing in her own diary she is a lazy bitch. If she made $130k last year maybe she should have realized she was getting older and bought a house she had cash for.
The best part is one day when she's old and sprung (and poor) she will remember the $25k she lost LOL.
She is not fun to work with if you are working a camera
that 130K is just last year she has worked for steve since befor I started working for steve and I think she made more money then I did and I was paid very well.
If she was smart she would have been putting and herself though computer classes that would relate to the web so she could then capitalize on building her own sites and take the experience she gained and the money she was paid to do somthing to make more money like Jenna and Danni and Sunny and all the other successfull web girls with a brain have done.
Steve let her go dont pay her a cent just say nevermind you dont care if she shoots for anyone. She will learn real quick how nice you were to her hell you bought everything for every shoot and let her take it all home at the end of the day.
I don't think she can "easily" make more than $2k/month with only softcore with another comapny.
Overture has 128040 searches for "Tawnee Stone"
Word will quickly spread if she has a new site. It won't be even close to being as big as what her Lightspeed once was or likely remain to be but if someone could pay her in the 35-50K range just to use her image with sporadic updates they should still be able to turn a profit.
1. She made $130K LAST year.
2. She didn't get her contract renewed THIS year cause she only does softcore.
3. The $2K a month is a severance package so that she doesn't work for someone else for a year.
So basically her only option is either be happy with $2K a month or leave Steve to hopefully make more.
Can't really blame her for wanting to make more than $2K a month after she had a taste of the $130K year.
I think you're doing the right thing steve to let her go. You've got plenty of content saved up so her leaving shouldn't phase you.
If she's trying to finish up school she should be happy that allthough she's not making $130K, she's still got a FREE $24K for a year and can focus just on school.
Just my 2 cents
That sounds about right to me ... Steve made her a more then fair deal ... let her go out and try to make it on her own ...
I have been thinking , exclusive that means I guess to work for no one . 24k is kind of tight to live on if you have a house payment. Also you said you offered her $25k for one pov but cant afford to pay her more then 24k for a year. She did get paid but its her face and body that will be all over the net for the rest of her life. A decission she made at 18 very much still a kid. I think the model that really helped you get your business off the ground deserves more then the ones after that. That face was the one that gave your business the edge. I also know there are two sides to every story.
With posting her email here it gives me a feeling:
Someone must be afraid someone is going to come out with a bunch of shit, they are coming out with this first to cover themselves and put a Im nice guy face on this. I could wrong but its a feeling.
I offered her $2000/month in severance, so she can finish school without losing her new house. But, of course, now she will make me look like an asshole for my trouble.
im sure you're intentions were for her to not create any competition for herself and not to save her house. either way shes a dumb bitch and she will end up getting screwed over. if i was you i would only look at this like a business decision though and not let your pride get in the way. if you think that someone else starting a site will cost you more than 2k a month then pay her more. it should all boil down to what will make you more money.
Sorry but I think she is over-paid already. I see all kind of "hot" girls getting 10X what they are worth. So what she made the company lots of $$, she did nothing but pose. The company did the work, marketing, advertising, promoting, INVESTING, etc... Same goes for many main stream businesses. Just because you made the company a shitload of money doesn't entitle you to it. It is up to the company to pay you what they wish. In this case I would say she made more than a fair amount and then some. If I had never seen her and came across her I would never even consider paying her more than a few hundred a week. Amazing how these girls suddenly feel they are worth their weight in gold.

She doesn?t seem very savvy. If she were smart she would be doing her own site not writing other companies to model for them, but it sounds like she is clueless in that department. However, I think she can make more than 2k just doing what she wants to do. While the name is trademarked I am pretty sure she can put right under her new name in small print ?formally known as Tawnee Stone?.

Actually, she can't legally do so considering she holds no rights to the trademark. She would need to get the express permission of the entity, company, or person that holds those rights -- that would be Steve, Steve, & Steve basically.

THat all sounds good but then you have to go in front of a judge ,this young girl crying how she cant make a living and how this company has made millions of dollars with her image. They took my youth and now the bank is going to take my house. That would be a tough one not as cut and dry as one would think.
I think it's quite ironic that the type of things she refuses to do (hardcore, webcams, fan mail etc), are exactly the type of things that would make her successful somewhere else.
If she setup with someone else, what does she think she can offer the punter that isn't already being offered by Lightspeed? Not to mention the cross-site memberships they offer with the other girls.
I think a smart girl would milk Steve for all the things he wants her to do
I think we need to realize that she is probalbly one of the highest paid "content" over the last 4 years. Steve has stated several times that she gets a chunk of sales and she was a lot hotter last or the year before then she is now. Bummer it came to this but this industry is like sports. The old quarterback has to go no matter how many super bowl rings he has, once his arm goes.
It still sucks as she has made me a lot of money. That lesbian thing made x-mas.

I am not trying to start a controversy, but you may want to double check with your legal counsel. I think it was Playboy or Penthouse that lost a lawsuit over that issue. I think even though it is trademarked she can still talk about it because it is newsworthy. She can?t call any new site Tawanee Stone or any variation, but theoretically on a site she appeared on it could say something to the effect of Hi, I am (insert new name here) I use to be known as Twanee Stone. That?s over and I am on my own now. Come check out my goods. I think what it boils down to is you can?t keep someone from mentioning what their former employment was. For example If I had worked for Coca Cola in the past they couldn?t keep me from using their trademark in a resume, or if I built a biographical web site that included my history they couldn?t keep me from mentioning I worked at Coca Cola in the past.
Tawnee Stone just contacted me telling me she's looking for a new company to run a new site for her:
Steve,
This is an email that I intend to send to a list of
over 200 websites Jeff and I have compiled. We are
both using are free time to search for more possible
employers out there to contact and if we don¡¦t get
response from this batch than I will continue to
contact people.
I realize you are not going to be happy about this and
just wanted to give you one final chance to make me a
more reasonable offer than the $2000 a month you have
offered me to be exclusive to LightSpeed Media. You
called me in for that second meeting so that we could
talk about what I was looking for, and then all you
did was continue to tell me $2000 is all you can
afford to pay me. If that is the case than I will
accept that. I appreciate all that you have paid me,
but feel that I was mislead about a severance package
I am now not getting. I did not plan to be cut off
with no notice and I need to finish school. I would
also like to walk away from this whole journey with
something other than just enough to pay my mortgage
for the next year. My images have been online and
making you money for 3+ years, and will continue to
make you money for years to come. This is why I
can¡¦t in good conscience accept such a low figure.
If you are interested in offering me more than the
$2000 a month than please contact me. If you are not
interested in paying me more than please do not
contact me.
I do hope to hear from you soon. But if I don¡¦t then
I will start contacting web companies by tomorrow
night.
Sincerely,
Tammy
haha, gotta love it when they become prima donnas.
sorry to be cynical, but here's how it goes.
an otherwise forgettable (but cute) young girl with nice skin and a smile who is slightly above average is well photographed and extremely well marketed.
and all of a sudden she has the illusion that she is a star.
youthful female beauty has a very short shelf life. sorry to burst the bubble, but the 18 year old prima donna begins to age very fast in front of the camera---and a girl 23 looks much different than the 18 year old when any NEW content is done---and that new content is usually worth LESS in the marketplace. Lightspeed did not make the world the way it is---the surfers make the world the way it is.
to get greedy at this stage of the game might end up costing her.
Holy shit Steve! I kinda dropped in randomly and noticed this thread. You sound pretty bummed about this. Hope all is cool with you and the crew otherwise.
Did Tanker mention anything to you about a show im working on in March? I bet at least it would cheer you up

You are psychic, you must have ESPN ;)
Tawnee is/was our front girl. Which is exactly WHY I kissed her ass for so long. I saw this coming, so I prepared for her to quit. But why would she quit when she had a gravy train?
There will be other girls to take her place THIS YEAR, you haven't yet seen the dream team of new 18 year olds I've been working on.
We have over 550 sets of Tawnee now, over 125 unreleased. She'll be 19 forever in LightspeedWorld.

there is some truth to this.
can anyone even remember the former prima donna who called herself "terri weigel"?
We've talked about this for a long time, like "who made who?"
Would Tawnee have been a star without us?
Would we have risen in the sponsor ranks without her?
I think she is forgetting the *millions* of dollars and *thousands* of hours we've invested into promoting her. She was in the right place at the right time. She was our only model ready for a solo site when Tanker started working for us. Personally, I think we have models that deserve her stardom even more.

But on the other hand if you didnt have a product strong enough to promote all that work would been for nothing. I think it goes both ways. Also millions is a strong term its not like you were placing ads in the wall street journal and big tv spots. To spend millions that means you were making millions off her or it wouldnt of been worth it . So if you were making millions on a girl and then giving her 100k thats really not alot based on millions.

What I don't understand is why you post it here for everyone to see?
And AFAIK, she will be able to use the name Tawnee Stone as long as she refers to her past and operates as a competitor (another solo teen site).
I posted this here to test the waters, and see if maybe I'm too close to the issue and not seeing things clearly. But the responses here have helped me conclude that I'm not being unfair to her here.
And according to my attorney, she won't be able to touch the name Tawnee Stone without permission, it is a registered trademark of Lightspeed Media.

Your lawyer is wrong click the link in the post above about Terry Weigel . I think Playboy has alittle more lawyer power and they lost. Also test the waters we are only basing it on what your telling us but I have a longer memory than most and I remember Nina . So who knows whats really happening and Tawnee doesnt have a voice on here.

Sorry I'm not being precise enough, but fuck off, I'm not going to post my financials here. Lightspeedcash pays millions to affiliates yearly, plus has a long list of other operational and marketing expenses.
She has been compensated more than fairly, there is no one that will dispute that.
