Misty has been amazing, and yes, she's very smart. We don't know what kind of dog she is, she's part border collie for sure, but the rest is anyone's guess.
We got her from the SPCA two years ago, she was siezed because of cruelty from her previous owner (we were told she almost died from starvation).
From her nipples it looks like she's had puppies before, and I think her behaviour is an extension of her being a mom. It must be a pack thing... stay close to the young and protect/look after them. It's incredibly cute!
