I haven't had a chance to post, the baby's home now! I'm already had my first sleepless night, and I got peed on while breaking in our new change table. lol
I was a little worried how my dog Misty would react to the baby, but she's a sweetheart. She's just as excited as we are! Wherever the baby goes, she goes, and every noise from Luke brings brings her to full atention. It's like having a nanny.
It's even been hard getting her to go outside to have a leak, she doesn't want to leave the baby, and when she does, she goes real fast and then runs back inside. It's so cute. She's an older dog, but now she seems to have the energy of a puppy.
We're a happy family.

My second toe is much much longer than my big toe on both feet. My dad has it, and his mother has it. Pretty much no one else has it, even in my family, my brother doesn't have it.
My wife's mom and dad don't have it either, they have five children, and none of them have it.
It's impossible to exclude the possibility that it might be a recessive gene without checking my wife's extended family's feet, but odds are it's dominate, and in that case my dad had a 50/50 chance of passing it on to his children, I got it, my brother didn't. Luke has it, so if my wife's been cheating on me, it has to have been with another long toed freak like me.

Misty has been amazing, and yes, she's very smart. We don't know what kind of dog she is, she's part border collie for sure, but the rest is anyone's guess.
We got her from the SPCA two years ago, she was siezed because of cruelty from her previous owner (we were told she almost died from starvation).
From her nipples it looks like she's had puppies before, and I think her behaviour is an extension of her being a mom. It must be a pack thing... stay close to the young and protect/look after them. It's incredibly cute!Ambition is as common as dirt.Comment
