But there's alot more webmaster boards out there, the one that starts charging a fee will retain maybe 5% of it's members. And the remaining 5% will leave once they realize all of their advertising potential is gone.
maybe a have each user verified for having a adult business and charge for that section only to cover the verifying time.
Like the desert needs the rain
We do fully manged WordPress, VPS, and Servers. Adult Host Pro https://adulthostpro.com/ Since 2001
I bet that would just make the other boards bigger. The smaller webmasters would go there and the sponsors would follow, along with their advertising dollars. A small $5 or whatever one time payment might work but I think that would even be pushing it.
I like it, it'd keep out surfers, scammers, and about 1/2 of the mailing industry
How about a 1 dollar a month or at least a 24 hour period before you can post. Keep a lot of surfers away if they have to pull out the cc for anything and also if you make em wait 24 hours they probably wont come back anyway.
Ahh just charge 19.95 a month for all the sig whores. That would cut down a lot of the bull shit. Then review all apps make sure they are adult webmasters that are 18+
I think paid membership would be a bad idea.. However a "members only or a private forum" section that had a monthly cost might not be a bad idea.. Something like webmasterworld has.
This would allow gfy to keep growing but could open up a private section for guys that want to do business and not read through 50 posts of nonsense.
In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.
A pay-to-post subforum would be an excellent improvement, for those whose time is valuable and just want to focus on the business-oriented (and domain name!) threads. The sub-forum could be read by anyone, but for posting privileges, one would pay $$$ (either per post, or for a flat rate per month). I believe the newer versions of vBulletin support Paypal and other payment systems, for different classes of member subscriptions, too, so it wouldn't be difficult to add.
As an experiment, maybe make it a $5 flat rate for a trial month of March 2005, and then adjust it depending on what happens?
One could do the same for signatures, $5 to be able to have one. That would cut down on the "sig placement" posts.
I buy good domain names. Send lists to George (at) LOFFS.com
Anything other than completely free would be the death of this board. You would only see a handful of people left and topics would take days for quality responses. The best way would be to require approval from a mod to join and possibly a monthly review. Proof of involvement in adult should be required and possible refferals.
