I see way too many idiots with what seem to be multiple accounts, or they are people working for outsource companies posting away all day long, I can think of about 5 off the top of my head...

Do you think the value of a sig is overpriced because of this?

Or do you think that only the big posters are valuable?

To me an increase in whoring indicates the saturation of the market and the mass of posts needed to deliver the same productivity that at one time you could do with far less posting.

Would you trust someone who you hardly even know, someone that their posts are all "see sig" "congrats to the winners!" and stuff like that to actually reccommend a program to you? I would trust alot of other people on here who actually participate in discussion and have some thought in their posts before I trusted someone doing 30-50 shit posts a day to bulk up enough of a count to get $100-$200 a month for their sig...

I think sigs are still effective if you dont abuse the process. You can tell very quickly who's in it for the 50 bucks a month as opposed to the serious posters, who'm people actually read. I feel the former get ignored pretty fast.

So true, but there are always people who avoid playing by the rules, and who come in and whore it up. Don't get me wrong, I love it when our sig is sported by people, but I'd rather have someone who brings substance sporting it than someone out to make people hate our sigs which adds a bad taste for the program.

sleazy's sig i think is still the highest paid price for one.
and i didnt even know that people still paid money for them.

at the time, it was great branding becuase nobody had done it
before. i just dont know how much its really worth anymore.

This somehow made me laugh (don't worry, nobody else will understand).

Still getting a good price for mine, except I don't have that much time to post anymore, been keeping busy with work and new projects...

Personally if I'd be investing in sigs I'd be going toward solid people with a good reputation... or the big post counts...

For the established webmaster/GFYer there is still value in the sig. No question that it helps with branding. Should be part of an overall marketing mix to affiliates.

I think things are a bit more realistic now. Sponsors want their $$ worth. So they demand post count and some Q factor. The smart sponsor wants more than just post count. He/she wants some serious biz related posts or something that attracts attention.

I couldnt care less who is a sig whore or not, as long as they're a real webmaster. Whether they're making $100/week or $1 billion/week doesnt make any difference in how much I trust the sponsor in their sig.

All surfers should be banned though. Too bad there is no way to really tell who is a surfer and who isnt.
