There is plenty of money to be made, but you definately went about it in the wrong way. Your first stop should have been here. Reading... Searching... Reading... then asking questions that the search function could not answer.

You definately WAY over paid for that domain. That was just crazy. I have a domain, lacetongue.com and another, rhinosthumbs.com. Combined they pay me about $1600 a month on TGP traffic. They cost me about $17.95 for both. I spent $200 for a TGP script and $100 (per month, for 4 months) to get a trade script. I made about $480 my first month. So I bought a second TGP license for $150 and a trade script license for $125 and then got it transfered to my domain for an additional $85. The second month I made about $600 and moved it all to a dedicated and then made $1200 the next month after that. Added 2 more TGP's and made $2000.

So... the lesson here is that the NAME of the TGP doesn't mean shit. Some of the best TGP's have lame names... marksbookmarks and link-o-rama.. Thumbzilla. Thehun... all MADE the name what it is... They didn't buy one second hand.

The only other thing I can say is... You need to pay to play. Get the cash, buy the scripts, get GREAT hosting. You will make money.

I'll add my and say that investing a bunch of money up front isn't necessary. When I first started I installed apache on my home computer and started hosting my own sites (all AVS) until my ISP freaked when I started burning quite a bit of bandwidth. At that point I got a virtual account and started submitting tgp galleries and freesites. Once I was making a little more I rented a dedicated server and started building my own tgp sites.

The moral of the story is that you might not have to spend a lot of money up front on software (or spread you legs on a webcam) if you're not in a big rush to make a lot of money. I would suggest if you're rent is paid then take the time learning how to build galleries that convert first then spend more money later.
