Maybe he just need time to be alone. My brother and sis-n-law had that relationship too and they decided to get separated. And then he realize that his life is incomplete without his wife and his daughter. Now they're living together again, fights are part of a relationship sometimes we just need to deal with it.

Without money to get, a lawyer isn't worth much. Let me rephrase since you have a daughter. You will need a lawyer to handle custody of the child. There will be child support assigned. If he doesn't have enough money to send you somewhere, something tells me child support will be low and there will be collection problems.
Sounds like there isn't enough resource to get divorced. Guess you need to meet another man. This time pick one with money. Or start making some cash on your own.

Sounds like a total asshole. You should be able to show up to court with NO lawyer and they will give you the basics. Half of everything and he will have to help financially raise that child if he makes more money than you.

I'll say this Cristie - even if your husband is broke, you must get a lawyer to represent you in the divorce (most courthouses can guide you to government agencies/lawyers that are covered for free). You MUST ask for child support - even if he can't pay you.
Here's the scenario - your ex-husband comes into big money (wins a lottery - someone leaves him their estate or he actually works ) while you and your daughter are trying to make ends meat, your husband is living the life of Riley. He's her responsability too - whether he wants to take credit for her upbringing or not. The fact that he didn't do anything to help - is already one of the leading reasons if she's acting up. Even if you don't need the money, even if you don't think he'll ever get money, for the love of your child, you have to have at least fought for your child's rights.
On another note - a good piece of advice is to also get on court documents that he maintain a life insurance until the child turns 18.
Honestly, I hope it's just someone joking - I would never want my child to hear or even remotely think that their father would have wanted to ship them halfway across the world in order to get some emotional revenge on me. He sucks. Cristie, in cases like this, you're best off alone than in bad company
