Well I did not mean to suggest it as a permanent solution but rather temporarily and if/once you are able to retrain her to use the box in front of the kitchen sink gradually start moving it away. Behavioral problems can take time to change as cats are creatures of habit.

If simply moving one or more boxes in front of the sink does not work, then it is not the physical spot that she is attracted to but rather the smell of her urine that she keeps leaving behind. If that is the case, try cutting out a spot on the mat where she has recently urinated, DO NOT clean it, remove the rest of the mat and clean the carpet around the sink real well, put the cut out piece in the littler box and put the box in front of the sink. If she goes for it, gradually cut the mat in the litter box to a smaller peice until it is gone and gradually move it to a more convenient area.
