If Rooney plays he's very unlikely to be fit and probably more of a liability than a help. Remember he will be half fit and up against players at the top of their game.

Owen, time will tell if he's fit.

Crouch, was taken off against West Ham because he was outplayed by a guy who has never got into the England side. He's only going to be a sub who might upset a defense.

Defoe, so out of form I feel sorry for him. At his best he would be a top player, but he's not NOW.

Bent, totally out of his class at International level. There have been many great club and league players who simply did not have it when they stepped up to International level. Peter Osgood and Jeff Astle are fine examples.

Walcott, he will be up against tougher players and defenses than he has ever experienced. One on one he might have a chance. But Henry, Owen and many other great EXPERIENCED players have problems at this level.

The World Cup is the real thing, not comic magazines.

But I would love it if he does cut it.
