I got a few nice .IN from the pre-register
All generic names with 100 000 overture results or more, and PPC over 3 USD in average ;)
ccTLD's is the future, countries that have more then english as official languages, will have their national top level domain as the most important one. I also notice that in some contries the national identity is very important, and I guess .IN will be one of those. Anyway, india is retarded and will continue to be so for another 3-5 years, atleast.
Wish I got some really cool names
I'm currently considering to trade a generic indian top-name for a swedish ccTLD. let's see what happens.
Although google filter away the "in", you can build cool stuff with a .IN domain, like luxuryhotels.in/usa or takeaway.in/newyorkComment

Hmm, why don't you get mine "railway" domains instead - I'll let em go cheap since I got no use for them. .COM is still much more recognized for indians and they do get a few type-ins..Originally posted by DomBuyerFunniest part is that the absolute first name I tried to reg was not pussy or snatch.in but indianrailway.in
Damn, that motherfucker would have put my baby's baby through college.

There is a few ways of looking at it, the first is the names with that extension are actually quite good looking so fuck.in is a good name on its own. Also there is well over 400 million indians starting to jump on the net and millions of indiands world wide also looking for stuff from there home land. So the obvious words like cinema.in films.in etc etc will be well worth having to either develop or sell later at a wacking great mark upOriginally posted by Mike33I wish I understood the domain game. I see no value in a .IN domain except to mirror it on search engines to existing successful dot coms. I know I'm missing something here. Oh well. Another money train I won't be getting on.

It's hard to find Indian based domains without being Indian or living in India and of course all the obvious Indian terms were already taken...Originally posted by Johny TrafficThere is a few ways of looking at it, the first is the names with that extension are actually quite good looking so fuck.in is a good name on its own. It's also worth remembering that English is freely spoken by all age groups in India - So you can expect a huge amount of typeins in English - Also, India is a fast emerging country and the internet growth there will be phenominal over the next few years.Originally posted by Johny TrafficThere is a few ways of looking at it, the first is the names with that extension are actually quite good looking so fuck.in is a good name on its own. .in extentions are a nice investment - Looks like a load of you guys here have been cleaning up!
By the way - Who has kev.in? I wanted that one and am willing to buy, or trade kelv.in for it.Comment

To each their own. I would rather spend $100 now and take my chances rather than miss out on a golden opportunityOriginally posted by polish_aristocratI wouldnt pay you even $20 for all of them now.

If I waited for it to "evolve", it would've been too late to grab anything good at this price. You know how that works
Edit: Btw, i know a few law schools that would be interested in lawschools.in and same goes for med schools.
Also picked up a major state name, which I am sure will cover my investment 100x times as much as i spent today

You are absolutely right - Those who took a chance on buying loads of .com extentions made bank - This will not be on the same level, but I am certain the investors in .in will see excellent returns.Originally posted by CraKTo each their own. English is spoken also in Poland but noone would type in law.pl, stockmarket.pl or teenporn.pl in their browserOriginally posted by HarlotCash DykerIt's also worth remembering that English is freely spoken by all age groups in India - So you can expect a huge amount of typeins in English - Also, India is a fast emerging country and the internet growth there will be phenominal over the next few years.

will they have some other value...? well, perhaps yesI don't use ICQ anymore.Comment

btw from what i know there's already the co.in extension and ppl in India are used to it so probably it will take a long time for sure before there will be even some established websites with the .in extensionI don't use ICQ anymore.Comment

Haha, you of all people should be able to see through your own statement here.
Everything is #'s and when you have a lot of them, you are golden. Google gets way more hits than any other search engine and yahoo is #2. That is why we TARGET those and then secondary everything else.
Population India: 1,065,070,607 - median age = 24.4 - Purchasing Power - 3.033 Trillion
Population Poland: 38,626,349 - median age = 36.2 - Purchasing Power - $427.1 Billion
Internet users, 18 million India to 8 million Poland.
India is an opening market that is booming and becoming more technical and Poland is a levelled market that isn't expected much more increase outside of the rate of population growth.
India is going to be like we were during 1998 when everyone and their grandma started using the internet.Comment

Didn't do much homework on this one, did you? - Even 90% of Indian search engines are in ENGLISH -
I haven't yet found a Polish search engine in English -Comment
-
My point was that regardless how many people live in India, or how many of them speak English, they won't type in be default english terms in their browsers like insurance.in or hotlesbians.in
so whoever registers them and expects type in visitors, will be disappointedI don't use ICQ anymore.Comment
