Do you pay models for interviews?

I stated very clearly on the phone before you came in that I would need to meet with you for an interview. I made it blatantly clear that I don?t work with anyone without seeing them in person, and I would need to take some photos of you during this time for our review purposes. I have a pre-written routine that I step through with every single person I talk to on the phone, and the time we talked was no exception. The interviews I conduct are standard for this industry.
I?m going to set the record straight, as I did when I spoke with you in person. You did not model for my website. I conducted an interview in which test photos were taken. There is a difference, and there shouldn?t be any confusion. In no way did I ever imply that you would be paid for the interview. The photos I took are NOT used on the website, and that is why I do NOT pay for these photos. If I don?t make money, you don?t make money.
I will give you an example of my point. When you go to an interview at Target, do you expect to get paid? They do not pay people for interviews. You would be a fool if you asked them for money, for them to simply to meet you and see what you?re like. Do you expect them to hire you without meeting you in person before hand? The business I conduct is done exactly the same way.
I have no doubt that you?re anxious for work, but my primary concern is my own safety. If I feel that you in any way jeopardize my safety, it?s a no-go. I didn?t get very good vibes when I was talking to you in person. That?s where I draw the line.
In the future, if you expect to get paid when you interview with a company, you are going to have a very tough time. Best of luck to you. As far as the photos are concerned, they have been deleted for your privacy. Thank you for your interest in modeling.
