Did you ever stop to think that the person in the photo is simply a paid model - acting a role for the camera?
Would it surprise you to learn the model led a VERY normal childhood, is married with children - and is in all respects rather well-adjusted?

I had an interaction with a model who didn't like the subject/content of my photos and she sent me a rant-filled email that asked in the end she couldn't understand why the models posed for me.
I sent her a three word response "I pay them."
