My take on the whole show:
1.) Yup... Limited to the 'sports' niche. (Kinda like when I submit a free DP site into 'group' when I should have put it into the 'anal' category... Duh! ;-)

2.) From ghetto to glory... Ironically, none of the kids from poor neighborhoods forced to ride on handlebars could afford this bike... but DAMN what a prototype they made!

3.) Probably the winner. Sad that it is not a 'new' invention... Just a 'new' game. The game looks O.K. (not great) but the commercial ROCKED (Made me want to buy one ;-)

4.) Unless you want to burn in hell forever... This guy SHOULD win! (I voted for #3 ;-) The idea is pretty sound... SO WHAT if it doesn't fit in a car (yet)... For now ~ They should make seats like this on airplanes and make the airplanes out of whatever the 'black box' in the cock pit is made of.

Final thought: Since the show is entitled: 'American Inventor'...
If either #1 or #3 win... Can their inventions be 'outsourced' to #2 or #4?
I agree with you that #4 is the most important invention. The bike is amazing, but you're right, it won't be affordable to many kids who would use it. The commercial for the game was brilliant and it made me want to buy one too, lol. I don't know much about the game but it seems just a spinoff off "Hangman" or Wheel of Fortune type thing. It's just a word guessing fill-in-the-blank game.

Do many people still play such games? If so, it could be in every household. I personally haven't played board games and such having grown up in the video game era. So I guess my vote would go for #4 for the child seat.
