I'm not trying to defend Muslims or Islam here, just saying that if you look at Muhammad's words from a historical context, he was not hateful towards Chrisitians and Jews as so many of his followers unfortunately are. Again, I'm not speaking about Muslims, but telling you my understanding of Muhammad's words.
"We believe in what has been revealed to us, just as we believe in what has been revealed to you [Jews and Christians]. Our God and your God are the same; and it is to Him we submit" 29:46
But just like most of the major religions today, the leaders words and actions couldn't be more contradictory to the words and actions of most of their "followers".
Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc ... one of the greatest things we all have in common is the propensity to take inspired words, claim allegiance-to and faith-in them, and then spend the rest of our lives in hypocricy.
