    Advice on building membership more aggressively

    My wife and I have a bbw niche site. We have been up for two years, the first year we were free and the second year we went pay. We just had our year anniversary going pay last month and its been good. Membership had grown every month, first month we had 80 members,last month was a record 215 with a drop off of 20%. Its grown enough that I could work on it full time. We are on some picka sites and its really grown our traffic avg 25,000 unique vistors a day. My question how do we get our membership up to 400 members a month. Should I just be patient and thankful for the results we have or is there something we could do to help it.

                          We have found that our client base that have a more niche/one woman site do better advertising on the AVS, go thru and make up small 30 pic feeder sites that then upsell into your paysite. I assume that with 25K a day that most of that is coming from toplist and TGP type sites which are hard to convert anyway. It looks like your SE link pop's are pretty low for a site that has been around for 2 years. Check http://www.marketleap.com/publinkpop/ to get an idea of who is linking to you, maybe set aside an hour a day trading links with other bbw sites. Another thing that has worked for some our clients is a hard shipped movie or Video-CD upon signup, take your best vidoe clips and offer it to them as a signup bonus if they don't mind having something shipped to them. You can get a VHS or CD copied for around $1 @ 50 pieces and then shipping can be as cheap as $1.85 thru the USPS. Hope it helps.

                              I would get a better website design. Nothing too professional, just not as amateur as it is now. When a website is too amateur looking, people are more hesitant to use their credit card. A better design will improve your signups from the traffic you're already getting.

                              Here is an example of some amateur sites that have decent design:

                              I would also raise your price to $24.95/month, I seriously doubt you will see any dropoff in signups.

                              Other than that, you should be making small free sites to submit to link lists, TGP galleries, and AVS

                                  For my amateur site (www.chezchris.ca) I went to:
                                  http://www.4templates.com/ and bought a template for I think it was $15.00 and used it for my site. Really cheap and it really helped to jazz it up!

                                  I think you should also raise the price to 24.99 seeing as how all the big sites are 29.99-39.99.

                                  Also -- get an affiliate program happening -- it's easy.

                                      Thank you everyone that answered so far. We will be redoing the site in dreamweaver and hope to have that ready by end of Nov. Its gone thru four versions already but it was in front page that has been a major pain in the ass lol. The Avs sites are a good idea, do they all have to have a seperate domain? Also raised the price why do you think we should do that, not disagreeing more money good thing just curious. So I have an answer when I pitch my wife the boss lol.

                                          all upsell to your main bbw site.
