I always thought Borders was a bit expensive.
We have Bookmans here.. used bookstore, ton of magazines, music, used game stuff, some other crap. It's cheaper than Amazon which is great, but it has smelly hippies that hang around all day.... so you never know what type of whiff you'll be getting with your discounts.

I prefer Borders to Barnes and Noble, but the prices need to be more competitive for sure. I used to take my kids to Borders on the weekend to hang out and we'd always buy a few books, but as I started budgeting more I realized the used book store and Amazon were giving me more for my money. So for the ambiance we just go to a coffee shop with our 1/2 price books.Comment

Daughter has a kindle and just downloads everything now, I use to buy her about 20 books a year from Barnes and Noble, it was an easy present, just give her a gift card!Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants

hate to see it go. but i do buy more books online as well and how they can keep profitable running big stores like that in this day and age is probably impossible.

I have an Ipad and I can read Wikipedia on the crapper. Seriously. I"m a huge WWII buff and I can spend the rest of my life reading about it on Wikipedia.... I have hundreds of books about it, but every day I learn something new on line about it.
Not to mention I have a huge library right up the street. No way I'm paying $30 for a book I'll read once when I can read it for free and not feel guilty about tossing it out five years from now.Herschel Savage

What? I know a countless number of people that buy book's nonstop. They buy from cheaper places, Borders has always been very expensive. Libraries may be free but they don't always have the latest books and a lot of people simply don't like going to them.
